Classic Greek Salad Recipe

For 6 servings you will need: – 1 pc. head lettuce; – 1 medium onion; – 1 can of olives; – 2 pcs. sweet pepper; – 2 large meaty tomatoes; – 1 cucumber; – 200 g feta cheese; – 6 tablespoons of olive oil; – 1 teaspoon of oregano; – lemon juice; – pepper.

To prepare this salad, choose only the freshest vegetables and herbs, you need to cook it just before eating it, you should not leave it for later. Juicy vegetables will give juice, it will become watery and quickly lose its unique taste.

Wash all vegetables and herbs thoroughly under running cold water. Peel the onion (red onions are perfect for this dish, but you can easily replace them with regular onions), cut them into small pieces.

Cut off the top of the pepper, peel it of seeds and cut it into cubes, tomatoes into slices, cut a cucumber in half, each part into slices. Put all vegetables in a salad bowl.

Cut the olives (or pitted olives) in half. Finally, cut the feta cheese into a fairly large cube. Separate the leaves from the head of lettuce and tear them into pieces with your hands. Add green salad with feta cheese to vegetables, top with olives.

It remains to make a refueling. Like any other Mediterranean dish, Greek salad is usually seasoned with olive oil. To make the dressing have a piquant aroma, add freshly squeezed juice of one lemon, oregano and black pepper to the oil, mix everything thoroughly and pour over the salad. There is no need to salt vegetables or sauce, since the salt in the feta cheese will be quite enough. Stir the ingredients gently from bottom to top and serve the Greek salad to the table.
