How to behave on the road? What if you are left alone at home? Should you make an acquaintance on social networks? The task of parents and teachers of the Safe Environment program is to warn the child against possible risks.
The road is perhaps one of the most dangerous places in the city. If a child is familiar with the rules of the road from childhood, the roadway will not pose any danger to him. “Try in a simple, accessible, playful way to remind children every day that they are road users,” advised Aleksey Fedorovich Panchenko, teacher and trainer-expert of the Safe Environment program. – Try on different roles. Today you are a pedestrian, a passenger, tomorrow you are a driver, and the day after tomorrow you are a traffic controller. Gradually, in each of these roles, the child will learn to behave correctly on the road and better adapt to the environment. “
“Don’t pick up a hot kettle”, “Don’t open the door to a stranger”, “Don’t turn on the hairdryer”! How often parents say such phrases. In most cases, children are prohibited from doing certain things without giving a reason. Therefore, the child does not always form a logical chain that substantiates the strict requirements of the parents. For example: electricity – wet hands, a stranger – stealing. The main task of parents is to talk with children and preferably in their language. If there are older children in the family, the transfer of life experience can come from them.
Real threats in the virtual world
Each parent decides for himself at what age his child can have access to the Internet. In any case, you need to know about the negative factors of influence of the Network in advance.
- Information in its pure form, always available. In the Internet space, the child has no opportunity to influence the quality of the information received. The most harmless thing he can face is disinformation. In addition, there is a mass of frankly harmful and traumatic for an immature child’s psyche on the Web.
- The amount of information received. It is important to understand that at different ages mental processes proceed at different rates. Therefore, at school, information is dosed for better assimilation. On the Internet, a child cannot regulate its volume.
- Time spent in virtual space. There are many recommendations in this regard. Half an hour, an hour, two hours a day with breaks. The only correct strategy is to organize leisure in such a way that the ratio of the time a child spends in the virtual world is less than for real activities. And it is important to explain to the child that the transition from playing to the real world must be recorded, for example: sit down, push up, stretch. If the child shows aggression at the time of the release of the game and indifference to previous hobbies, this is a signal for the parents: perhaps we are talking about computer addiction.
- Need. A child of primary school age does not know how to formulate a request. It is important to help him understand why he is currently accessing the Internet. Communication? Entertainment? Education? From this request, a further strategy of behavior on the Web will be built.
