Improper washing of hair makes it greasy, heavy, difficult to comb, and the scalp itches after just one day. What mistakes do we most often make? Learn how to wash your hair so that you can enjoy fresh, shiny and healthy-looking hair for as long as possible.
Not brushing your hair before washing it
Wet hair is much more difficult to detangle after washing. For this reason, it is recommended to comb the hair as thoroughly as possible before washing it, to prevent it from tangling (especially in the case of longer hair) and to remove some dirt or styling products from it. For combing, it is best to choose a comb with rare teeth or a properly selected brush. The moment of combing your hair before the bath is also worth using for a scalp massage, which will improve the blood supply to the skin and perform a certain type of lymphatic massage.
Washing in too hot water
We all know perfectly well that washing the head and hair in warm, even hot water is the most pleasant, but not very healthy for our hair. Hair washed with warm water is more prone to damage and falling out. Water for washing hair, especially excessively greasy hair, should be lukewarm so as not to stimulate sebaceous glands to secrete sebum. Washing your hair with cold water has one more advantage – it leaves your hair smooth and shiny, like after visiting a hairdresser.
Using too much cosmetics
Start by getting your hair thoroughly wet. The shampoo foams better and spreads on wet hair. You will also notice that you need less shampoo to wash your hair if you wet it properly in advance – a hazelnut volume of shampoo is enough to wash short or medium length hair. Also, avoid applying the shampoo directly to your scalp – instead, mix it with a little water. This will ensure that the shampoo is evenly distributed over the scalp.
Washing your hair too much
Never use your fingernails to wash your hair, just your fingertips. Scratching, rubbing or jerking your hair while washing it can promote infection and contribute to hair loss. Also, remember to focus mainly on the scalp when shampooing your hair, as this is where your hair tends to be oily. The ends of your hair are relatively dry and more delicate, which causes them to become more dehydrated after shampooing. For this reason, focus more on cleaning the scalp than the ends of the hair – all you need to clean them is shampoo that drips off the top of the hair. Also, remember to never apply a conditioner to your scalp as it can make your hair greasy.
Using the wrong cosmetics
The basis of effective hair washing is choosing the right shampoo – first of all, make sure that it contains the most gentle washing ingredient (surfactant). Using too strong detergents can only worsen the condition of the scalp and hair. Poorly selected hair shampoo can also contribute to the formation of dandruff and make it difficult to detangle and style the hair.
Cerkopil shampoo is perfect for everyday, effective and at the same time gentle hair washing. It is a safe, non-aggressive product for the epidermal barrier that properly cares for, regenerates and moisturizes the hair. The cleansing and cleansing surfactants contained in the composition are safe and do not irritate even the particularly sensitive, atopic and problematic scalp. For this reason, Cerkopil shampoo is suitable for the daily care of every scalp, responding to its needs. In addition, the dermocosmetic contributes to water savings – you do not need much product to effectively wash your hair, and the shampoo rinses very well and quickly.
Sometimes shampoo is not enough
If we experience itching or excessive dryness of the scalp, it may turn out that our scalp requires additional care. Then it is worth reaching for products that have been created for the care of irritated skin – Cerkogel 10 or Cerkogel 30. Cerkogel 10 is a urea-based gel for dry scalp that has soothing, anti-itching, softening and moisturizing properties. In addition, the L-arginine contained in the composition supports the action of urea and deeply increases hydration.
Its effects will be especially beneficial for people whose scalp requires special regenerating care due to excessive exposure to the sun, chlorinated water or numerous hairdressing treatments.
Cerkogel 30 is a scalp care gel with a higher urea content that meets the needs of the scalp with signs of exfoliation and keratosis. Both Cerkogel 10 and Cerkogel 30 gel are enough to be applied to the skin in a small amount, and then rubbed into the scalp until absorbed. After about 30 minutes, the cosmetic is simply combed with a soft brush or rinsed and washed with Cerkopil shampoo, which will complete the care of the demanding scalp.
Inaccurate rinsing of the hair
Many of us forget to thoroughly rinse shampoo and other cosmetics from the surface of our head. A carelessly washed shampoo puts unnecessary stress on the scalp and can make your hair look dirty on the same day. Rinsing the hair properly should take a minimum of 30 seconds. The temperature of the water is also important – it should be even cold to close the hair cuticles and retain moisture. What’s more, hair rinsed with cool water will not absorb moisture from the environment and will frizz less.
Inadequate drying
The way you treat your hair after shampooing is crucial to its overall health and appearance. Do not rub your hair with a towel to dry it. Try to be as gentle as possible as wet hair is prone to damage. Also, forget about any turban or tying wet hair. A delicate microfiber towel is best for drying your hair, as it not only absorbs more moisture, but also won’t frizz. Whenever possible, it is best to let the hair dry on its own, and when using a dryer, use the lowest temperature possible.
