They have a very beneficial effect on the regulation of the intestinal microflora. In addition, they also help restore the proper level of fatty acids in the large intestine, and thus contribute to the proper absorption of water and electrolytes. Saccharomyces Boulardi have the ability to break down and inactivate toxins in the body. In addition, it has been proven that they also increase immunity, because they increase immunoglobulins.
Saccharomyces Boulardi – indications
There are many indications for the use of the Saccharomyces Boulardi dietary supplement. One of them is intestinal diseases, including Crohn’s disease in particular, because this yeast reduces intestinal permeability. Another indication is infection with certain bacteria, such as Salmonella Typhimurium or Escherichia Coli. Due to the fact that these bacteria bind to yeast, they can be excreted with them.
Above all, however, Saccharomyces Boulardi is recommended for people who suffer from diarrhea for various reasons. This is especially true of diarrhea caused by antibiotic therapy, traveler’s diarrhea, and diarrhea of unknown cause.
Saccharomyces Boulardi – dosage
Saccharomyces Boulardi can be used both during diarrhea and prophylactically. Regarding prophylactic use, 200 mg Saccharomyces Boulardi once daily is recommended for both children and adults. When this yeast is used for diarrhea, the same dose is recommended for children up to seven years of age, while older children and adults should take 200 mg Saccharomyces Boulardi twice daily between meals.

Before starting the use of Saccharomyces Boulardi, it is necessary to read the package leaflet that comes with the dietary supplement. Saccharomyces Boulardi yeast is considered a safe agent, but if you experience any side effects that may have been caused by taking the supplement, consult your doctor.
