Fans of quiet hunting should be aware that there are deadly mushrooms. Ryadovka tiger belongs to the Ryadovkov family from the genus Tricholoma. There are other names: leopard, poisonous. The mushroom is considered poisonous, so it is not harvested.

Where do tiger rows grow

The tiger row (tricholoma pardinum) can be found in any area with a temperate climate. Mushrooms grow on calcareous soils. They can form mycorrhiza with different trees, but conifers are more often chosen. Sometimes they grow singly, without forming large groups.

In Our Country, tiger rows are common in the Central regions with a temperate climate. Often there are small colonies – “witch rings”. Mushroom glades can be found in mixed and deciduous forests, on sandy soil. Poisonous specimens choose places under pines, spruces, oaks.

The fruits appear in August and do not disappear until mid-October. With favorable weather, growth is extended until November. The tiger rowing is found in parks, gardens, fields and meadows.

The hat is small in size – up to 12 cm in diameter. In a young mushroom, its shape is semicircular, and then it takes on the form of a bell. In adulthood, the hat is flat. Its color can be from gray-white to asphalt gray. The tiger row has scaly outgrowths, which gives it a tiger color.

The stem of the mushroom is quite long (up to 15 cm) and dense, its diameter does not exceed 3,5 cm. Its color is white. The shape is cylindrical, with an extension at the bottom. Old mushrooms are distinguished by a smooth stem, while young ones have a slight fiber content.

The plates under the hat are thick. Their color can vary from yellowish to greenish white. On mature plates, you can see the release of watery “dew”.

The pulp of the fruit is hard, gray. After cutting, the color remains the same. The taste of the product is pleasant, not bitter. And the aroma is powdery, which is inherent in rows. The spores are medium in size and ellipsoid in shape. In mass, the powder is white in color.

Is it possible to eat tiger rows

The tiger row is very poisonous, as it contains an unstudied toxin, which, even in small quantities, leads to gastrointestinal upset.

Important! The time of onset of the first symptoms depends on the amount of food eaten. Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may appear within a quarter of an hour or 1,5-2 hours after eating.

How to distinguish tiger row mushrooms

The tiger row is easily confused with edible counterparts from this family. Mushrooms should be carefully inspected during harvest. The poisonous specimen has a silver-gray hat with a bluish tinge, dotted with dark scales, and a powdery coating is visible on the leg.

The following species have similarities with the tiger row:

  1. Earthy. This is a small mushroom, there are no yellow and green shades on the back of the hat, the flesh is not characterized by the aroma of flour. The fruits are dark gray in color, but without a blue tint. The mushroom is edible, but not everyone likes its taste.

  2. Gray. There are no scales on the hat. This species is edible and suitable for all types of processing. Collection season: from September to the end of November.

If during a trip to the forest there are doubts about the edibility of the mushroom, it is advisable not to take it. It is difficult for unknowing people to determine if a fetus is safe. You don’t have to taste it. Before preparing dishes, it is necessary to carefully sort out the mushrooms again. But at home, it is much more difficult to determine edibility, because mushrooms crumple in a basket, break.

Symptoms of poisoning

A person may not determine that the fetus is dangerous. The time of appearance of the first signs depends on the portion eaten and the general condition of the person. Symptoms usually appear within 15 minutes, but may linger for up to two hours. Indigestion is observed even if a small amount is eaten.

There have been cases of liver damage. The toxin leads to a sharp inflammation of the mucous membranes of the stomach and intestines. If you do not see a doctor in time, this can lead to death. Even if poisoning is suspected, specialist help is needed.

First aid for poisoning

Poisoning with tiger rows is life-threatening. It is easier not to eat mushroom dishes than to put yourself at risk. If an inedible copy fell into a plate, and a person became ill after eating it, first aid must be provided.
