Vodka brand “Russian North” belongs to the American-Ukrainian company Global Spirits. In 2011, the largest alcohol holding acquired the Vologda Distillery, which, after the change of ownership, was named “Russian North”. The new owner set the task of ousting competitors and taking one of the leading positions among the best-selling brands in Russia. So far, it has not been possible to achieve the goal, however, the brand is steadily holding on to the top twenty leaders in its price segment.
The history of the “Russian North” began in 1887, when the company “Pervushin and Sons” founded a brewery in Vologda. Throughout its existence, the company has experienced difficult times more than once. The most difficult period fell on the 2000s – the oldest Russian manufacturer was on the verge of bankruptcy. Having bought out production facilities, the Ukrainian company carried out a complete modernization of the lines, investing about $25 million in equipment upgrades.
It took more than six months to develop the Russian North vodka. The brand is based on the idea of combining pure natural raw materials and high-tech production. Water with a unique natural composition is brought from a source located on the territory of the national park. The recipe uses the classic combination of grain alcohol “Lux”, purified water and natural honey, which gives the product the aroma of fragrant herbs.
