Russian kvass saved a lot of people, but who is dangerous to drink it – says the doctor

The doctor explained who should definitely stop drinking the drink.

Who would have thought that for some people the native Russian and beloved by many kvass can be dangerous. Who should approach the drink with caution, and who should refuse altogether, said Olga Korableva, a nutritionist.

The maximum amount of kvass that can be drunk per day without harm to health is up to 0,5 liters. In a larger volume, the drink is able to retain liquid, provoke edema, which is harmful for those with high blood pressure, ”Olga Korableva told RIA Novosti.

Due to the increased acidity of the drink, it should not be consumed by people with gastritis, ulcers, liver disease and kidney or gallbladder stones.

If such a diagnosis is made, kvass can cause exacerbation, heartburn, inflammation of the mucous membrane in the lower esophagus. In addition, it should be remembered that kvass is the result of fermentation and therefore is not recommended for diseases of the intestines, in particular, colitis, ”the nutritionist warned.

Many people know that kvass contains a small degree due to the fermentation recipe. Basically, the percentage of alcohol content is from 0,7% to 2,6%, but with such indicators, doctors advise to be careful about drinking the drink for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

In addition to the minuses, the product also has pluses. Kvass is rich in vitamins and minerals. It is actively used not only in food, but also for cosmetic purposes in the form of face masks, hair shampoos, bath foam, etc.
