Russian ice (Russian ICE)

“Russian Ice” – vodka of the middle price segment. A faceted blue glass bottle with a screw cap and a three-dimensional pattern at the bottom, similar to melting ice, looks spectacular. On the label there is a miniature depicting the Battle on the Ice that took place in 1242 on Lake Peipsi.

Historical reference. The brand appeared on the domestic market in 2005 and has since been popular both in Russia and abroad. The trademark belonged to the Synergy group, founded in 1999. Its main office is located in Moscow.

Starting from 2002 and over the next five years, Synergy acquired 6 distilleries and became one of the largest companies producing and importing strong alcoholic beverages in Russia. In 2017, as a result of rebranding, Synergy Group received a new name: Public Joint Stock Company Beluga Group (PJSC Beluga Group, BELUGA GROUP). The chairman of the board of the joint-stock company is entrepreneur Alexander Mechetin.

Vodka “Russian Ice” (Russian ICE) is produced at two enterprises that are part of the group:

  • at the plant near Moscow “Traditions of Quality” (Georgievsky Distillery), located in the city of Krasnoznamensk;
  • at the Mariinsky Distillery (in the city of Mariinsk, Kemerovo Region).

For the advertising campaign of the Russian ICE brand in 2008, Sylvester Stallone was invited. His image of an action hero is quite consistent with the masculine nature of the drink, the campaign had a motto: “There is something Russian in everyone,” with a hint that Stallone’s great-grandmother was originally from Russia.

The product contains high-quality raw materials: alcohol “Lux”, purified water, sugar syrup, oat tincture and a special component – the carbohydrate module “Yantalak GF”. The carbohydrate module neutralizes traces of hazardous substances: aldehydes and ketones, fusel oils and other impurities harmful to the liver. Thanks to this additive, after a plentiful feast, guests are not threatened with a hangover. The drink is purified using 3 filters: gold, silver and coal. After that, vodka acquires the aroma of frosty freshness.

To prevent falsification of the contents, a non-removable plastic insert, called a guala cylinder, is installed under the screw cap. With such a device, it is impossible to fill the bottle a second time.

Characterization

“Russian Ice” is a perfectly clear vodka with a strength of 40%. The drink goes on sale in bottles of 0,5, 0,7 and 1 l. In the export version, vodka is called Russian ICE Exsport. The product supplied for export is prepared using Cold Maturation technology (exposure at low temperature), which guarantees a soft, slightly sweet taste of vodka.
