Rules for nutrition with urticaria

The text is for informational purposes only. We urge you not to use diets, do not resort to any medical menus and fasting without medical supervision. Recommended reading: “Why you can not go on a diet on your own.” The rules of nutrition for urticaria are a carefully selected list of products and a menu that does not contain allergens, a diet as part of active therapy. Urticaria is a rash all over the body, rashes can even appear on the mucous membranes of a person. In case of improper treatment or lack of an appropriate diet, the disease can become chronic.

Prohibited foods to eat

During an exacerbation of allergies, a number of products are prohibited for use. Compliance with these prohibitions is as important as drug therapy, because each of them can cause an exacerbation or a new attack.

Among these products are those that are often strong allergens in themselves, so they should be completely excluded from the diet: honey, chocolate, cocoa and products containing it; whole milk, both cow’s and goat’s and eggs (all products containing it); oranges, lemons and other citrus fruits; jam and jam; tomatoes; melons and watermelons; beet; all juices except apple juice (in apple juice, dyes should be avoided); all products containing non-natural food colorings; all kinds of nuts; spices and smoked meats; fried foods, sausages and sausages; canned food; mushrooms; bakery products; seafood.

If there is a predisposition to gluten allergy, all baked goods and products that contain flour, as well as soy products, should be completely avoided, because they may contain dangerous amounts of pesticides that can cause an aggravation.

Foods allowed for hives

If you adhere to the principles of a hypoallergenic diet, half of the symptoms disappear within the first two days. This is especially important for children prone to allergies. The list of allowed products includes the following: vegetables that are not included in the list of unacceptable for allergies; greens and cucumbers; buckwheat and rice on the water; bran bread; not red apples, bananas; leaf salad; boiled beef and veal; crackers without spices.

It is not easy to maintain such a diet, but it is necessary, otherwise the allergy will arise again. It is best to follow a diet from 2 weeks to a month, followed by exit from it.

Principles of nutrition for urticaria in children

Baby food for acute urticaria is a matter of particular importance, since young children suffer any illness worse than adults, and their symptoms appear much more acutely and rapidly. If urticaria occurs in a child whose age does not exceed one and a half years, it is worth transferring him to formula milk or breastfeeding, canceling any attempts to introduce complementary foods until the moment of final recovery.

If an allergy arose after the introduction of complementary foods, it is worth transferring the child to baby food again, namely purees and mixtures, and then be sure to show the doctor. Urticaria tends to worsen at the most unexpected moment, and untimely treatment significantly contributes to its complex course.

If the child is more than a year and a half, it is worth following a hypoallergenic diet for urticaria and carefully monitoring what foods the child consumes in kindergarten or school. It is also worth taking into account those nutritional supplements that the child took before the urticaria (before a medical consultation, they should be completely excluded).

A hypoallergenic diet for a child is no different from a diet for an adult. One note – adults should limit, and best of all, completely exclude all alcohol from the diet, because it creates a strong burden on the body and may contain dyes.

It is permissible for an adult to do therapeutic fasting: if there are no problems with the gastrointestinal tract, then fasting will help to return to normal faster.

Dietary recipes

These recipes will help diversify the patient’s menu while dieting.

Pureed green cabbage soup

To cook cabbage soup, you need the following ingredients:

  • potatoes – 40 g;
  • greens, broccoli 50 g each;
  • vegetable broth – 200 ml;
  • quail yolk (if the doctor allows) – 1 pc;
  • dill greens – a few branches.

Rinse leafy greens (spinach, broccoli, lettuce), boil with a small amount of salt until fully cooked and rub on a sieve to a mushy consistency. Set aside the vegetable broth (you will need it later). Then boil the potatoes and mash them into a puree, along with a boiled quail egg and add to the gruel of greens and broccoli. Mix all the ingredients, pour in the vegetable broth and then grind in a blender until smooth.

Steamed chicken cutlets

For chicken diet cutlets you will need:

  • chicken breast – 600 g;
  • onion – 200 g;
  • homemade chicken egg – 2 pcs;
  • vegetable oil;
  • salt.

Grind the chicken into minced meat, cut the onion into strips and mix with minced meat. Then add egg yolks and salt to taste. Mix everything, form cutlets and cook on a double boiler grate for about half an hour.

Cottage cheese and rice casserole

For the dish you will need the following list of products:

  • rice – 200 g;
  • curd – 100 g;
  • homemade chicken egg – 2 pcs;
  • sugar – to taste.

Boil rice, add mashed cottage cheese and egg yolks, and then mix everything thoroughly. Add sugar, mix until smooth. Place in a special baking dish in the oven. Bake for 30 minutes, keeping the temperature at 180 degrees.

Zucchini in the oven

The recipe requires the following ingredients:

  • zucchini – 1 pcs;
  • medium bulb – 1 pc;
  • carrots – 1 pieces;
  • Garlic – 2 cloves;
  • minced chicken – 200 g;
  • salt, pepper, herbs, vegetable oil.

Stew the chopped carrots and onions, chop the greens, squeeze the garlic. Mix everything with minced meat, then salt, pepper, let it brew. Peel the zucchini, cut into 4-5 cm and put the minced meat on it. Wrap in oiled foil. Bake at a temperature of 200 degrees for half an hour, and then open the foil and reduce the temperature to 180. Bake for another 15 minutes until done.

Principles of nutrition for Quincke’s edema

Quincke’s edema is the most complex of allergic dermatoses. Its danger lies in the fact that the disease can lead to swelling of the brain and respiratory tract. If you do not follow a diet and consume prohibited foods, in this state the “results” will manifest themselves faster. In cases of violation of the diet, some patients significantly aggravated their own condition.

The diet prescribed for a patient with Quincke’s edema completely excludes allergen products that were listed above as unacceptable, but with several amendments.

It is still better to exclude high-carbohydrate cereals and leave only millet and oatmeal. Salt and sugar are removed from the diet completely (salt retains water, and sugar can provoke an exacerbation of allergies). You can drink only herbal decoction, green tea without sugar and water (even kefir is excluded – lactose can provoke re-edema). For the same reason, high-fat dairy products should not be consumed.

In the acute period is allowed: lean meat; cereal porridge; cabbage of various types; green vegetables; yellow, white and green fruits; juices without sugar and green tea.

If a specific allergen is found, it should be excluded. This applies not only to the period of the diet, which, with Quincke’s edema, must be observed for a month, but also to further nutrition. If, for example, an allergy to honey is identified, it should not be eaten in the future either – otherwise various immunological reactions will occur: from urticaria to Quincke’s edema itself.

Quitting the diet with Quincke’s edema also needs to be done gradually: new foods are included in the diet in small quantities and consumed within the limits of what is permitted by the doctor.

Diet after recovery

As soon as the diet comes to an end, you need to retake allergy tests and the necessary tests, and then begin to gradually introduce new foods to the menu. If this principle is violated, the urticaria may return and it will be more difficult to proceed than before.

First you need to introduce those products that are least likely to cause allergies (they should be consumed every three days). Then gradually introduce the rest. Such an exit from the diet will not provoke an exacerbation of urticaria in the future.
