The name of this vodka evokes a traditional image: riders in sable hats on a snowy forest edge, the sounds of hunting horns and barking dogs. And also – a helpful huntsman with a small tray, on which cups with a drink instantly warming in the cold.
The manufacturer was counting on such a reaction – so that the name would be associated with the traditional hobby of high-ranking officials, and the drink as its invariable attribute. So the label depicts the imperial crown, horsemen, greyhounds. There is one more feature that unites court customs and Tsarskaya Okhota vodka – intrigues and scandals.
Who is the manufacturer?
It is currently difficult to identify the designer and owner of the brand: vodka is still available in some stores, but old stocks are being sold, and different producers are indicated on the same bottle labels.
LLC VKZ “ROSARM”. The limited liability company wine and cognac factory “ROSARM” was entered into the register of enterprises in 2003, although the date of initial registration is September 30, 1996. This is a private enterprise, the main activity of which is the production of grape wine, the designated industry is “Alcohol industry”. The company declared its readiness to produce distilled beverages, spirits from fermented materials, wines, cider. As well as the activities of agents in the wholesale and retail trade in alcohol and tobacco products. According to the registration data, the company was located in the city of Reutov, Moscow Region. In the past tense – because LLC VKZ “ROSARM” was liquidated in 2013.
LLC “Kurant” The company from Sergiev Posad was declared bankrupt in 2010. The property was sold at auction. The company’s license was revoked. And stocks of vodka “White Birch” and “Tsarskaya Okhota” were confiscated several times by law enforcement officers as counterfeit products in all regions of Russia. In May 2013, the FSB of Russia found out that vodka was still being produced on the territory of Kurant. During the audit, they found: 46 bottles of vodka, indicating producers who do not have licenses – limited liability companies Rodnik 777 and Serebryanoprudsky. They confiscated counterfeit federal special stamp delivery notes. During a further check, illegal warehouses of the enterprise in Pushkino were discovered, where 150 thousand bottles of vodka produced by Kurant were stored.
Beverage characteristics
If you believe what is written on the label, then the Tsarskaya Okhota vodka consists of Lux rectified grain alcohol, filtered water, and sugar syrup. The composition also contains additives: a syrup with lactulose “Alcolux”, which reduces the toxic effect of alcohol, and succinic acid, which has a general tonic effect and stabilizes the processes of nervous regulation.
Fortress traditional – 40%. The design of the bottle is unpretentious, the shape is ordinary, there is a dispenser, a screw cap.
Reviews from those who have tried it are mostly positive. They mention transparency, mild taste. They also note the presence of a characteristic vodka aroma, which is not too harsh. The drink is praised for being easy to drink and for the price.
Vodka quite predictably likes men who are fond of hunting and fishing. A bottle of “Royal Hunt” next to weapons or spinning rods in a backpack looks quite harmonious. Even if not very similar to a real royal hunt.
