Rowan. Useful and healing properties. Video
Red mountain ash is a long-standing symbol of Russian autumn. How many poetic words have been created about her! However, since ancient times, people have appreciated scarlet berries not only for their wondrous beauty, but also for the benefits that they contain. After all, mountain ash is a storehouse of vitamins and a valuable medicine for many diseases.
The chemical composition of rowan fruits
Organic acids: – ascorbic; – lemon; – apple; – sorbic; – grape; – ursol; – amber, etc.
Amino acids: – cystine; – lysine; – cysteine; – histidine; – glycine; – arginine; – tyrosine, etc.
Sugar: – fructose; – glucose; – sucrose; – sorbose, etc.
Almost all groups of vitamins, including rare P and K, are part of mountain ash. And in terms of the presence of P-active substances with radiation-protective properties, mountain ash confidently occupies the first positions among fruit and berry crops.
In terms of beta-carotene content, rowan fruits are superior to carrots, and they contain much more vitamin C than apples. Scarlet berries are also rich in phosphorus, without which normal absorption of calcium is impossible in the human body. For this reason, mountain ash can compete with expensive varieties of sea fish in the treatment of many diseases, including childhood rickets and female osteoporosis.
Not only rowan berries are valued, but also leaves containing vitamin C and flavonols, and flowers in which spireoside and quercitrin are found, as well as seeds, which contain fatty oils, and bark with a high content of tannins.
The amount of sugars, organic acids and vitamins in mountain ash depends on the geography and degree of ripeness of the fruit.
Protection against seasonal infections
Rowan is a powerful natural antiseptic. Vitamin C, which is part of the berries, has a powerful healing effect, it is able to prevent colds, stop inflammation of the tonsils, the development of tonsillitis and even the flu. Rowan perfectly treats coughs, including old ones. If the consequences of diseases associated with seasonal infections continue to torment you, prepare a healing infusion. To do this, pour 50 g of dried mountain ash into a glass or ceramic jar and pour 0,5 liters of boiling water. Wrap with a warm scarf (scarf, old fur coat, blanket) and let it brew for 6-8 hours. Take the ready-made infusion ¼ glass several times a day.
Fresh rowan berries also help in the fight against an old cough. In the morning on an empty stomach, eat 1 tbsp. l. berries. Do this every other day for a month. Frozen mountain ash will also work, defrost the berries in warm water before use
Rowan berries help to successfully cope with the problems of the gastrointestinal tract. Their help is especially effective in case of disturbances in the production of bile in the body, since they have choleretic properties due to the presence of sorbitol and sorbic acid in them. Thanks to sorbitol, a natural sugar, blood cholesterol and liver fat are reduced. Dried fruit powder and pasta made from fresh berries work in the same way, but you should consult your doctor about the amount and duration of use of rowan-based products.
Decoctions and infusions made from medicinal berries are able to regulate the process of digestion and help with both constipation and diarrhea; use in each case assumes a different concentration and frequency of use. With diarrhea, you can take a decoction from the bark of a tree, it contains tannins.
Red mountain ash contains a large amount of triterpenic acids, which help in the treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system. Juice, decoction or infusion will come to the rescue in case of arrhythmia, hypertension, heart failure, regular pain in the heart area, coronary circulation disorders.
The composition of rowan fruits includes sorbic and parasorbic acids. Discovered almost a century ago, they only recently attracted the attention of scientists. The results of numerous studies have shown that these acids can significantly slow down the growth and development of various microorganisms and molds. Today, taking into account this fact, mountain ash is recognized as an excellent prophylactic agent for many fungal diseases, including thrush in women.
Red rowan berries contain a fairly high percentage of pectin substances. These substances are widely used in the treatment of heavy metal poisoning and in cases of damage to the human body by radioactive elements. Along with this, the juice and infusion of rowan fruits are also used as an anti-radiation agent that has radio and X-ray protective effects.
A sure way to get rid of acne and irritation on the skin, even out its tone, give it radiance, and prevent early wrinkles are masks from mountain ash. They are reliable and effective due to the active substances, vitamins, micro- and macroelements contained in the berries. Take ripe berries, rinse them thoroughly and grind them in a wooden mortar or blender. To prevent the mask from spreading, add a little starch or dry cream to the gruel.
You can also apply rowanberry mass on a gauze napkin cut to the shape of your face, cover with another similar napkin and apply the resulting mask on your face, lightly pressing it to the skin with your fingers.
Keep the mask for no more than 15 minutes, then wash with cool water. Vitamin C will strengthen the vessels of the thin skin of the face, get rid of vascular “stars”, relieve any inflammation. Rowan juice has a slight whitening effect, thereby evening out the skin tone of the face. Under the influence of organic acids contained in mountain ash, existing pimples simply dissolve, and new ones do not appear. For aging skin, cold compresses from the juice of fresh berries are useful. Just saturate it on a gauze pad and place it on clean skin for 15 minutes.
A mask made from berries or red rowan juice can stain the skin, so it is better to apply the mask before bedtime, and in the morning, wipe your face with a tonic and apply a day cream with SPF protection
