Gallstones are a source of unpleasant ailments. The preparation that soothes them is Rowachol. It is an over-the-counter medication that has cholagogic properties. Familiarize yourself with its composition and dosage rules.

Rowachol – indications

Rowachol is a bile-forming drug. It is accepted:

  1. in order to eliminate mild ailments appearing as a result of gallstone disease,
  2. in the prevention of gallstone disease,
  3. in spasms of the bile ducts,
  4. in the case of biliary dyskinesia.

Thanks to its choleretic properties, Rowachol reduces bile stasis. It also has a relaxant effect, thus reducing pain in contractile states occurring in the bile ducts. Regular use of the drug Rowachol has a positive effect on the breakdown of cholesterol stones and prevents the formation of new ones.

Rowachol – warehouse

One capsule of Rowachol contains:

  1. substancje czynne — alfa-pinen, beta-pinen, cineol, menthon, camphen, borneol, menthol,
  2. excipient – olive oil,
  3. additives – glycerol, gelatin, propyl hydroxybenzoate and ethyl hydroxybenzoate, water solution of copper chlorophyll complex.

Rowachol – dosage

Rowachol is an over-the-counter drug, but the frequency and dose is determined by the doctor. Follow its recommendations, and if you have any doubts, consult a specialist doctor or pharmacist.

In the event that the doctor does not prescribe a specific dose, Rowachol should be taken as follows:

  1. in adults – 1 capsule taken 3-4 times a day,
  2. in children from 6 to 14 years of age – 1 capsule taken 1-2 times a day.

Do not exceed the daily doses prescribed by your doctor or provided in the leaflet by the manufacturer of the drug. Rowachol capsules should be taken 30 minutes before the planned meal. You should limit the amount of fat in your diet while taking the drug.

Rowachol – replacement

The price of Rowachol in pharmacies is about PLN 20. The package of the drug contains 50 capsules. Rowachol substitutes are Raphacholin and Boldaloin tablets, as well as Solaren and Artecholin in the form of a liquid.

Rowachol – contraindications

Do not take Rowachol when:

  1. there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the preparation,
  2. (in women) you are pregnant or breastfeeding,
  3. there is acute inflammation or obstruction of the bile ducts,
  4. there is a gastrointestinal obstruction or inflammation,
  5. the patient has chronic and acute liver diseases,
  6. the patient has liver damage,
  7. the patient has recently taken other medications (consultation with a doctor is required),
  8. the patient is less than 6 years old.

Rowachol – side effects

The drug Rowachol, like all medical devices, may cause certain side effects. However, they do not have to occur in every patient. Some people who take Rowachol complain of belching and a mint taste in the mouth.

Rowachol – comments

The drug Rowachol should be kept out of the reach of children. The manufacturer of the preparation recommends that the temperature in this place does not exceed 25 degrees C.
