Experts researched the product of five popular manufacturers and did not find a single one that could be called really high quality.
Tell me, do you have a meat grinder? I have no. Because the kitchen is tiny, there is nowhere to store this monster, and minced meat does not need to be done very often. Easier to buy. At least, so it seemed, until I read the results of a new study by Roskontrol. Experts have studied what the popular brands of minced chicken are made of. And they were surprised – not at all pleasant.
Products of the Petelinka, Everyday, Mosselprom, Troekurovo and Rococo brands were sent to the laboratory. They were tested for composition, freshness, nutritional value and hygiene standards. Let’s start with the latter – we will find out who sells the breeding ground of bacteria under the label “Minced Chicken”.
As it turned out, they are present in almost all samples, except for “Petelinka”. She is absolutely pure in front of the consumer. As for the rest, the least bacteria in the Rococo minced meat. Moreover, experts suggested that a product of normal quality left the factory, and due to improper conditions of transportation and storage, microbes in it multiplied to exceed the norm by one and a half times.
In the product “Troekurovo” bacteria are more than the maximum allowable value by as much as 4,5 times. You can’t buy this – the Troekurovo minced meat is on the black list.
Mosselprom and Every Day distinguished themselves even more. Experts found listeria and salmonella in the mince of these brands. To kill them, you need to cook a potential dish for at least half an hour at a high temperature. Otherwise – poisoning.
Any bird is fed with medicines for prophylaxis, this is the production norm. But before sending the chicken for slaughter, you need to stand for at least a week after the last use of the drug. During this time, the medicine is removed from the bird’s body, and the person just eats meat – without medicine. However, not everyone can withstand the “quarantine”.
Residual traces of the antimicrobial drug were found in all types of minced meat, this is not a crime. But in the product “Petelinka” and “Troekurovo” the concentration of the antibiotic exceeded reasonable limits.
“Residual amounts of drugs can cause allergic reactions in a person, and if you regularly eat foods containing antimicrobial drugs, there is a risk that pathogenic microflora will become resistant to them. The use of this antibiotic in this case will become ineffective in the treatment of infectious diseases “, – explains Irina Arkatova, chief specialist of the expert center of the Union of Consumers”
Another risk factor is dysbiosis. We all know that it develops if you take antibiotics for at least a few days.
Minced meat should be made from meat – this is undeniable. But … “Rococo”, “Troekurovo” and “Mosselprom” are really made mainly of meat. “Petelinka” consists of muscle tissue at least half. But “Every Day” is made of everything in a row. Mostly – from connective tissue, that is, not from meat. There are even bone remains there. However, the label indicates – mechanically deboned meat. That is, it is quite possible to expect that there will be bones in the minced meat. Or even feathers.
The nutritional value on the label is at odds with reality for all samples. “Every day” is fatter and contains more protein than stated. The rest, on the contrary, are less fatty. The leanest mince is Rococo.
There should be one – the first. However, in practice, only the “Rococo” minced meat meets this logical requirement.
“Petelinka” and “Every Day” according to the test results are a product of dubious freshness. The rest of the minced meat samples – Mosselprom and Troekurovo – are frankly stale, ”they say in Roskontrol.
As a result, experts recommended only one brand of minced meat for purchase – “Rococo”. And even then with a stretch – just this minced meat has the least number of violations, and it is relatively safe for health. The product scored 62 quality points out of 100 possible. That is, a C grade.
