Ronnie Coleman

Taking a look at the life of such a powerful person like Roni Coleman, you begin to understand that he is a very unusual and at the same time an outstanding person in the world of bodybuilding.

Roni’s birthday fell on May 13, 1964. This joyful event for his parents took place in Monroe, Louisiana.

From childhood, the boy stood out significantly among his peers – he was very physically developed. Even in his interviews, Coleman often recalls how, at the age of 12, while playing football or baseball, he was often approached by adults who, apparently, believed that the boy was intensively engaged in “pumping up muscles” and advised him to stop these activities – not the same still an age for this. To which Roni looked at them in bewilderment, replied that he had never even seen a barbell live in his life. But who could have believed this “grief man”. Of course, such attention from others could not but arouse curiosity in the boy’s soul. And deciding to find out – what is he doing so persistently (in the opinion of the majority), he goes to the gym closest to his home and begins to “pull iron”. Then Roni was only 12 years old.

Later in 1982, after entering college, fate alienated Ronald from a barbell and a dumbbell – none of the teachers of the educational institution wanted to hear about some kind of “hardware”. And he willy-nilly had to “love” American football and later play for one of the university teams “Tigers”.

In 1986, after graduating from college, Ronnie Coleman with a diploma in accounting goes to look for work. After working for 2 years in “Domino’s Pizza”, he “runs away” with horror – he was visited by the fear of spending his whole life at the table, counting other people’s money. But what to do next? After all, you have to somehow earn a living. And Roni decides to enter the police academy. It turned out that the police needed “pumped-up” people. This leads Coleman to the idea that he must return to the world of bodybuilding.

Ronald comes to the Metro Flex gym and immediately attracts the attention of a certain Brian Dobson, the owner of the “gym”. He offers Roni a very interesting offer, which was difficult to refuse – a free subscription to the hall, in exchange for participation in the “Mr. Texas” tournament. Roni agrees and takes part in April 1990. He becomes the undisputed champion! This was his first victory.

In 1998, Roni won the prestigious title “Mr. Olympia” and is held in this status right up to 2005 inclusive. But in 2007, Coleman became only fourth. That’s right, because others should also be given a chance to feel like “Mr. Olympia”. In the same year, the bodybuilder announces the end of his sports career. Maybe he was lying? Indeed, in June 2009 on MuscleSport radio, Ronald announced that he plans to take part in “Mr. Olympia-2010”. We’ll see.

An amazing feature of this man is that, despite his employment as a police officer, he still managed to be a leader in many competitions. In 2001, Texas Governor Rick Perry awarded him the Texas Navy Admiral’s Certificate for his immense achievement in bodybuilding. Among other things, Roni Coleman starred in several films.

Ronald is married and has 2 daughters.
