Roll dough: how to cook? Video

If you want to treat yourself and your guests with something sweet, make a roll. To do this, you will need a little inspiration, cream or jam, and a biscuit. An important step is the correct preparation of the dough for the roll.

It is best to use butter dough for making a roll. It is easy to make a homemade roll from it, in which any sweet filling will be appropriate, be it jam, cream, dried fruit or jam.

For the test, you will need the following products:

– flour (1,25 kg); – sugar (375 g); – yeast (1 tbsp. L.); – homemade eggs (2 pcs.); – butter (250 g); – milk (2 tbsp.); – salt (5 g); – vanilla sugar (1 sachet).

First, prepare the dough. To prevent the baked goods from losing their friability and softness, they must be prepared in a more cunning way than usual – in two stages. Combine yeast, sugar, 2 cups milk and 1 cup flour in one bowl. If there is no milk, you can start the mixture with water. Leave the resulting mixture for 10 minutes. If you ignore the preparation of the dough and immediately start preparing the dough in one step, you may not achieve a good result. Large amounts of oil interfere with yeast activity.

Add vanilla sugar, softened butter, eggs. Separate the egg whites from the yolks for a more airy dough. Whisk the whites with a pinch of salt, mash the egg yolks and sugar. Combine whipped whites and mashed yolks. Mix it all up. You can use either an automatic mixer or a hand whisk. At worst, if conditions do not allow, stir with a fork.

You can replace the vanilla sugar with vanilla or vanilla essence if desired. Alternatively, use cinnamon instead of vanilla

Gradually adding the remaining flour, knead the dough. Be careful – pour out the flour slowly so that you don’t accidentally spill the excess. If you pour a large amount of flour into the bowl at once, the dough is unlikely to be successfully kneaded.

Place the resulting mass in the refrigerator for half an hour in order not to accidentally get a sticky substance instead of the dough. An alternative to placing it in the refrigerator can be cooking on a marble board. After cooling, continue kneading the dough until soft and smooth.

Beat the dough onto the table with your hand several times. Lift up with your hand and drop back onto the table. Finishing touches – and the dough is ready.

Cover the container with a linen towel and leave in a warm place for 2 hours. You can also cover with a cotton towel. The main thing is that it is not closed hermetically. Remember the dough lightly before making the roll. The dough is ready, now you can start preparing the filling.
