Rodnik’s

Spanish macerated absinthe Rodnik’s is well known to lovers of this drink. Many experts even recommend it to beginners who have never tried wormwood tincture before: the obligatory bitterness in the taste of “Rodniks” is more delicate than that of other absinthes.

History reference. Ramon Masoliver believed that a real Spaniard must have two things on his table: bread and wine, and therefore the wine trade in Spain will always be a profitable occupation. In 1979, Mr. Masoliver founded the Masoliver Grup. The company successfully sold Catalan wines, profit increased year by year, and gradually its owner came to the conclusion that the production of alcoholic beverages is an even more profitable business than their sale.

In 1994, Masoliver created another company: “Beveland SA”, intended for the production and sale of various types of alcohol. Around the world, Beveland bought the most famous brands of wine, vodka, gin, rum, tequila and soon became one of the world’s largest producers of alcohol. Señor Ramon’s factories had a strict quality control system in place.

Having acquired the Rodnik’s brand, Masoliver did not at first count on high profits. In the early 90s, the sale of absinthe was prohibited by the laws of most European countries, so the drink could only be exported to the CIS countries, England or South America.

But in 1998, the ban on the sale of absinthe was lifted in almost all countries except Switzerland. There was a huge demand for wormwood tincture, poorly supported by supply. And then it turned out that while French and German firms were just setting up production, Beveland could conquer markets by supplying large quantities of high-quality and inexpensive absinthe.

Macerated absinthe is cheaper than distilled absinthe, although connoisseurs are constantly arguing about which technology is considered the best. Instead of a final distillation, Rodnik’s absinthe is carefully filtered, so all the chlorophyll remains in the liquid and gives it a pleasant yellow-green color. In order to prevent the drink from changing color due to the decomposition of chlorophyll, stabilizers and dyes are added to Rodnik’s, which are allowed in the EU countries.
