Roasted peanuts are sold in many stores. Adults and children eat it with pleasure. But you can cook salty or sweet nuts yourself. Homemade roasted peanuts have a big advantage: you can be sure that there are no harmful additives in them.
To toast the kernels with salt, you need a bag of raw peanuts. It is usually sold unpeeled, so you will need to fry it twice. The first stage allows you to remove the peel without much effort, the second – to bring the product to readiness. Take a clean skillet. It must be dry. Peanuts can be fried without any fat and, of course, without adding water. Just put it in a skillet and put it on fire.
You need to stir constantly, otherwise, instead of spicy grains, you end up risking getting embers. Cook for about a quarter of an hour. The readiness of the nuts is not difficult to determine, it is always visible on the shell. It should be dry and cracked in places. Remove the pan from the heat and let the contents cool. Peel the nuts and proceed to the second stage.
If you want lightly salted kernels, dissolve the salt on the tip of a knife in a teaspoon of water. Put the peanuts back in the pan, add brine and mix well. Cook the beans for about 3-5 minutes, until the salt is evenly distributed. By the way, you can add other additives. A good roasted peanut is obtained by adding a little pepper or ground garlic in the second step. But don’t overdo it.
To make the grains shine, add a few drops of sunflower or olive oil on the second frying.
Cooking sweet beans is done in approximately the same order as in the first case. You need:
– a bag of raw peanuts, – sugar to taste, – a frying pan.
Roast the peanuts in their shells, cool, peel and return to the skillet. Dissolve the sugar in water and pour it over the grains. You can pre-cook the sugar syrup. A great option is toasted peanuts with powdered sugar. It does not need to be dissolved. Simply sprinkle the grains on top and then stir.
For baking, you can make crushed roasted peanuts. Peel it and crush it in a mortar, and you can fry it with both sugar and salt.
You can fry nuts in the oven and even in the microwave. The oven must be preheated to 180 ° C. Place the inshell nuts on a baking sheet in one layer and fry for about 25 minutes. Then remove the baking sheet, let the nuts cool, peel them and place them back in the oven, dripping with brine or sugar syrup.
Fry at the same temperature for about another five minutes, then turn off the oven, leaving the beans there for another quarter of an hour. If you are using peanuts, put them in the oven for 15 minutes. You can bake it with sugar, salt, or spices.
