Rice for a side dish: how to cook deliciously? Video
Rice will become a tasty and satisfying side dish for both meat and fish dishes. It can be supplemented with vegetables and spices to give the rice an original and memorable taste. At the same time, the dish turns out to be not only beautiful and appetizing, but also very useful.
Delicious rice garnish with vegetables
You will need: – 1 tbsp. long grain rice; – 1/2 medium zucchini; – 1 medium carrot; – 1 bell pepper; – 1 onion; – 2 tomatoes; – vegetable oil; – salt and pepper.
First, put the rice on a side dish. To do this, rinse the grains, and then cook for 8-10 minutes in plenty of boiling water. Try rice – properly cooked cereals do not stick together, and each grain becomes soft inside. Season the rice with salt, then drain off excess water before cooking.
Take care of vegetables. Peel the zucchini and cut into cubes. Chop the onion, peel the bell peppers and cut into strips along with the carrots. Heat some vegetable oil in a deep frying pan and fry the onions in it, and then the carrots. Then add the rest of the vegetables to these ingredients, salt and pepper the mixture, pour a little water into it and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Add rice to these ingredients, stir and cook for another 5-7 minutes. This side dish will go well with burgers or burgers made from mixed minced beef and pork.
To make the taste of the dish richer, zucchini can be replaced with eggplant.
Delicious and beautiful: rice with shrimp in Chinese
For sweet and sour pork or chicken with peanuts, it’s easy to make delicious Chinese-style rice.
You will need: – 1 tbsp. round grain rice; – 3 eggs; – a bunch of green onions; – 300 g of shrimp; – soy sauce; – vegetable oil.
For this dish, choose the smallest shrimp, do not overpay for larger ones, which are more suitable for sushi or decorating dishes.
Sort the rice and rinse it in cold water at least 5 times to prevent the finished garnish from becoming too sticky. Then put the cereals in a deep saucepan and cover with cold water so that it covers the rice by 1 finger. Bring to a boil and simmer for at least 10 minutes. If the liquid evaporates, add a little more without stirring the contents of the pan. As a result, the rice should be firm and sticky. Remove from heat and add a few tablespoons of soy sauce. If you like Japanese food, season the rice with 2 tablespoons. warm rice vinegar with a little sugar dissolved in it.
Boil the shrimps in salted water for 5 minutes, and then peel them off. Beat eggs, adding 1 tsp. soy sauce. Pour them into a skillet with heated vegetable oil and bake an egg pancake. Then cut it into strips. Chop green onions. Mix shrimp, pieces of egg pancake and onion with cooked slightly cooled rice. Serve this dish with an extra dose of soy sauce.
