Forks as a gift
In the distant Soviet times, when this story happened, my friend Lyudmila met with a young man. His name was Mikhail. The lovers met for two years, and then got married.
But Luda did not invite our common friend Vika to the wedding: everyone knew perfectly well that Victoria was very jealous of the happiness of the young, since she had long and unrequited love for Mikhail. Previously, the girls competed with each other, but Mikhail made his choice in favor of Lyudmila. The rival was offended.
Weddings used to be celebrated at home, in the courtyard, no cafes and restaurants. The newlyweds celebrated such a joyful event in the courtyard of the large house of Mikhail’s parents. In the midst of the holiday, as if nothing had happened, Vika entered the courtyard.
She approached the newly-married couple and handed over a beautiful box with a huge bow. The guest was invited to the table, she did not refuse. Nobody immediately looked into the box – there was no time for that.
Deep after midnight, the guests went home. In the morning, the newlyweds began to look at the gifts and, of course, opened the box given by their ex-girlfriend. It contained twelve unusually beautiful forks, which at that time were a real rarity!
After the young people opened the box, Mikhail seemed to be replaced: he immediately made a scandal for his wife from scratch, after which he left the house, loudly slamming the door. He returned late in the evening and was dead drunk.
For the first time in his life, he got so drunk. Starting the next day, the young husband began to return from work late and tipsy. He was rude to his wife, often attempted to hit, but restrained himself.
Boomerang
Lyudmila and her mother-in-law were very lucky – she was a kind and wise woman. She advised her daughter-in-law to go to the edge of the village to see Baba Masha. Locals said that she knew how to remove damage, guessing on maps and seeing people almost through and through.
Luda came to Baba Masha, she sat her down at the table, spread her cards and asks:
– Was there a gift from your friend for the wedding?
The girl nodded, said:
– Well, yes, there was a present. In a box with a bow. Gave the forks.
“We need to get rid of the present urgently,” said Baba Masha, “otherwise there will be trouble. Forks and knives should not be given for any holidays, this has been known from time immemorial, otherwise people will start quarrels and all sorts of omissions.
And your friend also said something to the box. I see my friend’s revenge here. In general, you come home, take these forks along with the box and secretly bury them somewhere far from home, reading the spell. Just so no one can see you!
Upon returning home, the young wife did everything as ordered. Believe it or not, the next day my husband became the same as before: he hurried home from work, did not drink more. The rival’s revenge disappeared, as it happens in fairy tales.
Luda never spoke with the poggy villain again. From friends it became known that Vika became pregnant from some crook. He flatly refused to marry, but she gave birth.
Years passed, the boy grew up, got in touch with a bad company. He got involved in a drunken brawl, where he was severely crippled. The guy was miraculously saved, but he remained in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. It is sad.
What is the moral here? Never do evil, and you will not get it back with a boomerang.
