We can take into account that the regulations to stop the COVID-19 pandemic, which would be introduced during a possible fourth wave, will take into account whether someone has had the disease, is vaccinated or has a negative test result – said the government plenipotentiary for vaccination, Michał Dworczyk.

The head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister was asked on Thursday in Program 1 of the Polish Radio about reports on the issue of vaccination verification by employers. A parliamentary draft on this matter – as reported by «Wprost» – is to be submitted at the next session of the Sejm.

Employers will verify vaccinations?

Dworczyk pointed out that such demands were made by employers during consultations on the fight against COVID-19 and the construction of the National Immunization Program. “Various types of analyzes are carried out due to the fact that in Poland, as in most EU countries, we see a slowdown in the pace of registration for vaccinations, and consequently we are analyzing the possibilities of strengthening various types of incentives” – he added.

Dworczyk emphasized that the analyzes of individual proposals also concern their compliance with the constitution.

Dworczyk: the new rules will take into account whether someone is vaccinated

“We can reckon with the fact that the regulations aimed at stopping the pandemic that would be introduced during the fourth wave (…) will take into account whether someone has had the disease, is vaccinated or has a negative test for COVID-19” – said the boss Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

When asked about the possible introduction of solutions similar to the French ones in Poland, Dworczyk stated that no solutions could be ruled out. «We are following very closely what is happening in other countries. However, we must remember that Poland has its own specificity and the proposed solutions must be adapted to the situation in Poland. I would not make simple cripples »- he emphasized.

He informed that the government was preparing for a long-term educational campaign. “Poland is a country where adults are not used to vaccinations – it can be seen from the flu vaccination results (…) – therefore we have to work on changing certain social attitudes” – said Dworczyk.

He announced that information on this subject is to be presented in the coming days by the Ministry of Education and Science.

Compulsory vaccinations for doctors? «Decisions have not been taken»

The government’s plenipotentiary for vaccination was also asked whether vaccination for doctors would be compulsory in Poland. He admitted that such votes were common in the Medical Council at the prime minister. “Nevertheless, we have not made any such decisions” – noted Dworczyk, pointing out that such solutions are only used in a few EU countries.

When asked about other professional groups – for example teachers or policemen – Dworczyk replied that WHO did not recommend that vaccinations against Covid-19 be compulsory. «On the other hand, no variants can be ruled out, eg related to the fact that some professional groups may be obligated to vaccinate. But at the moment there are no such decisions, »he added.

According to data from the Ministry of Health from Wednesday in Poland, more than 19 million vaccinations have been carried out since the end of December last year, when vaccination against COVID-33,9 was started. The number of fully vaccinated people has exceeded 17,1 million.
