Responsible goal formulation is a formulation that means only what depends directly on you, what you can really influence.
It is necessary to set tasks for yourself only such and in such a way that the result is completely dependent on you. If in the «Good» exercise for your inner «good» you set the goal of getting your mom to stop yelling at you all the time, you obviously won’t achieve much. Mom is out of your control. And what about this task depends on you? What can you do first of all with yourself, what do you want to change in yourself so that “good” arises in your soul more often? It is necessary to focus on what you can do, how you will be responsible for achieving the result. “I want to be internally free, but I need to change my husband, otherwise he …”. Mistake, we delete the husband. «What should I do to be more internally free?».
However, it should be taken into account that we fulfill some goals (tasks) not alone, but in cooperation with other people, and in this case the wording may become slightly different: “We set only those tasks for which we can be responsible.” One way or another, the control question: “Are my goals formulated responsibly, their achievement depends primarily on me?”
“I want people at my work to stop dogging and get to work!” — Mistake, from the goal setting of your colleagues and subordinates, you need to delete: “What should I do, what should I learn, what should I change in my policy in order to more effectively influence the relationship of employees and their work behavior?”
Relying on other people, circumstances, luck or Higher powers is not the best idea, you will most reliably achieve those goals for which you have all the necessary skills, resources and the ability to control what is happening. If you want to start better, feel more confident at work, in a team, ask yourself the questions: “What can I do myself so that colleagues start talking to me more often?”, “What abilities will help me to interest my colleagues?”
