The pandemic has put restaurants in check, among other sectors seriously affected by the health threat and its effects on consumption and the economy. Along with the “delivery” and the “take away”, and in addition to the early dinners and the recovery of brunches, entrepreneurs and chefs resort to the offer of private rooms, for a maximum of six people as established by law, to win and retain your customers.
It is the case of several More restaurants in Madrid, which have adapted their reserved areas for the current capacity restrictions and, together with the appropriate security measures, invite you to celebrate even in times of coronavirus with the most intimate circle.
The Basque Daddy (C / Claudio Coello, 122), a revelation restaurant in 2019, offers “the chef’s table”, separated by a glass from the rest of the room, where it serves a surprise menu of between five and six passes (€ 55 without drinks , € 75 with pairing).
Allard Experience has eight reserved rooms in the modernist Casa Gallardo (C / Ferraz, 2) in which it offers a menu created by the chef of El Club Allard, José Carlos Fuentes, which has a Michelin star (from € 105, or his ClAb Social menu for € 28).
Santerra (C / General Pardiñas, 56) has a beautiful room in the basement, with sliding doors and even a separate entrance for those seeking total privacy. There you can eat à la carte or their “Monte Bajo” menu, with the essence of Castilian cuisine.
The Japanese Sr. This (C / Pelayo 60) and Kappo (C / Bretón de los Herreros, 52) also offer secluded rooms for small groups. The first, which fuses the trail of the mythical Samurai with contemporary Mediterranean cuisine and has a “rogue soul”, is perfect for a more informal gathering. The second is the creative bet of Mario Payán for the most purists, who are looking for a temple of Japanese food in Madrid, a house in which technique and product are key and the menu, the one decided by the chef.
There is also a private room in the emblematic Horcher, next to the Retreat; in the tavern of good food Candela Madrid, in Chamartín; in several of the new spaces of the gastronomic gallery Gran Vía 55 and in the brand new and exquisite China Crown of the Bao brothers, in the Salamanca district.
