Rescue plan approved by the Government: who can opt for this aid?

Last Friday, March 12, the Government approved, in an extraordinary council of ministers, a rescue plan aimed at alleviating the effects of the pandemic, through delivery of direct aid to freelancers and entrepreneurs, which will be able to access amounts ranging from 3.000 to 200.000 euros.

To achieve this, there will be a 7.000 billion fund, Which is managed by the Autonomous Communities, and the Tax Agency will be in charge of ensuring that the money ends up in the hands of the person concerned.

That said, there are several doubts that arise around this rescue plan, such as the requirements that must be met to access these grants, the deadline to apply for them or the activities that will receive a grant. We will review these questions below.

Requirements to access these compensations

These aid are aimed at compensating companies in the sectors most affected by the pandemic and subsequent restrictions, therefore Some requirements must be met to access these:

First of all, a minimum 30% drop in turnover. Additionally, in 2019 a positive net result should have been registered.

Furthermore, the money that companies access will be a finalist. That is to say, focused on one purpose: it has to dedicate itself to paying invoices for fixed costs, payroll and debts for supplies and suppliers, among other items.

In this way, those who can access these compensations will be able to request a maximum of 40% of everything of everything that exceeds the first 30% drop in billing in the self-employed who do not pay taxes in modules and in SMEs with up to ten workers. For the rest of those affected, it will be 20% of what exceeds the 30% decrease in income.

Furthermore, the minimum help will be, as we have already mentioned, 3.000 euros for the self-employed who pay in modules and 4.000 euros for others. In this sense, the Ministry of Economy argues that ERTEs are already offsetting part of that 30% drop that is not covered.

What is the end date for grants?

Each community will launch its own call to access these grants. However, these can be accessed until the end of 2021. Of course, a final condition is that companies maintain their activity until June 2020.
