What does a turnip look like?
Agrimony is a perennial herbaceous plant, reaching a height of 50 to 130 cm. The root of the plant is short, thick, and quite powerful. The vertical stem is straight or slightly branched, covered with fluffy grayish hairs along its entire length.
The shape of the leaf blade is oblong, intermittently pinnate, with a coarsely serrated edge. Its upper surface is covered with short hairs, painted in dark green. The lower part of the leaf is gray in color, it feels like velvet to the touch. Closer to the root, the leaves are scaly. A large-leaved rosette is formed above them, and above the leaves are alternately arranged along the entire height of the stem.
The yellow flowers of agrimony are quite small, they form a neat spike-shaped inflorescence from 10 to 30 cm long. The flowering period lasts from June to September. At this time, gradually, one after another, flowers bloom from the bottom up. Being next to the apricot, you can feel a light spicy aroma.
In place of the flowers, fruits also gradually appear – nut-shaped baskets covered with bristles. Thanks to tiny hooks, they easily cling to clothing, animal hair. This is how the seeds of the plant are transferred.
Where does turnip grow?
Repeshok is found in almost the entire territory of Central Asia, the European part of Russia, the Caucasus, Siberia. The plant loves forest edges, mixed and deciduous forests, ravines, meadows. Feels great on loam and sandy soils. In the city, the repeshok took a fancy to roadsides along the roads, wastelands. Often it can be found near fences or among shrubs.
He does not like shady places, marshy soils.

How to brew turnip? cooking recipes
If there are no special instructions, an infusion of agrimony herbs can be prepared from 2 grams of vegetable raw materials (1 tablespoon) and a glass of boiling water. The brewed grass is covered with a lid, wrapped in a towel and insisted to an acceptable temperature. The warm infusion is filtered, the raw material is squeezed out. The entire amount received is divided into 3-4 doses and taken throughout the day.
Decoction of agrimony
It is easy to prepare a decoction of agrimony – 3 tablespoons of raw materials are poured into 500 ml of water, brought to a boil and boiled over low heat for 5 minutes. The decoction is drunk 120-130 ml three times a day.
Internal intake of a decoction of agrimony is indicated for rheumatism, dropsy, diseases of the stomach, intestines, pancreas and liver. Suitable for washing inflamed eyes, can be used as lotions for furunculosis, purulent skin lesions. With sore throat and colds, decoction of agrimony is gargled.
Infusion
To prepare the infusion, take 3 tablespoons of herbal raw agrimony, brew 500 ml of boiling water and leave for 2-2,5 hours. The finished infusion is filtered and taken three times a day, 120-130 ml.

Radish oil
If you cannot find agrimony oil in pharmacies, do not worry, you can cook it at home. For the treatment of various types of cancer, agrimony roots are used. Take 1 tablespoon of the roots, pour a glass of water, bring to a boil. After that, the fire is reduced to a minimum and boiled for 30 minutes. After the set time, the container is removed from the stove, wrapped and infused for 10 minutes. The finished broth is filtered and boiled water is added to the original amount (1 cup). The decoction is taken 1/3 cup three times a day, 30 minutes before meals.
If it is impossible to prepare a decoction, it can be replaced with apricot root powder. The powder is taken 1 gram (about 1/3 teaspoon) with water, 30 minutes before a meal.
Prescription for enuresis, urinary incontinence
The drug is prepared from agrimony seeds and natural red wine in a ratio of 1:3. In a glass jar, the composition is mixed well, closed and infused in a dark place for 14 days at room temperature. Shake the container periodically. The finished tincture is filtered, the seeds are squeezed.
The composition is taken three times a day, 40 ml, the last dose falls in the evening.
Types of agrimony officinalis
Common agrimony
Repeshok ordinary or pharmacy – a species that reaches a height of up to 1,2 meters. The plant is characterized by a straight stem, densely covered with rough villi, elliptical leaves. The flowers of the common agrimony consist of five yellow petals, which form a small cup of the correct shape.
In place of the flowers, miniature achenes are formed, the size of which does not exceed 5-7 mm. Tenacious bristles cling to everything that is possible, thereby ensuring the dissemination of seeds over vast areas.
Compositions prepared on the basis of common agrimony are effective for diarrhea, biliary colic, symptoms of bile stasis.

A special place is occupied by the preventive use of drugs based on agrimony in relation to malignant neoplasms. The plant is part of a number of phytopreparations that are used internally and externally for cancer of the oral cavity and throat. Hairy agrimony
From the name it is clear that the hairy agrimony has an upright, very pubescent stem, the height of which does not exceed 1 meter. However, a non-specialist in botany is unlikely to be able to distinguish hairy agrimony from common agrimony.
The plant is valued for its pronounced hemostatic effect and therefore is used for:

The plant genus agrimony includes at least 10 varieties. In folk and traditional medicine, only the varieties mentioned above are widely used. They have a similar chemical composition and a set of qualities valuable to humans.
Collection and storage rules
For medicinal purposes, the roots, herbaceous part and flowers of agrimony are used. Flowers are harvested during the flowering of the plant – from June to July. Grass, namely stems with leaves, is cut at a height of up to 10 cm from the ground. The best picking time is June-July. Whole roots with rhizome are dug up in autumn.
The green parts of the plant are dried in natural or artificial conditions. In the first case, the stems and leaves are laid out in the open air, in a place protected from the sun. Periodically, the raw materials are turned over for full ventilation. You can tie the agrimony in bunches and hang it in a well-ventilated area. Drying in an oven at a temperature not more than 40 °C is allowed. Maintaining a gentle temperature regime allows you to save all valuable substances.
The rhizome of agrimony is cleaned from the ground, washed well in cold water. After that, the roots are laid out for drying in a room with good air access. You can dry the rhizome in the oven at a temperature of 60 ° C.
Dried herbal raw materials and roots of agrimony are recommended to be stored in a wooden container with a tight lid or in canvas bags. Under these conditions, the shelf life can be 2 years.
Contraindications for taking agrimony
Usually agrimony is well tolerated and does not cause side effects. The list of contraindications to its reception is insignificant:
