Removing emotions is one of the forms of holding and stopping emotions.
Techniques to help relieve unwanted emotions:
- Kill another emotion.
It is more difficult to remove an unnecessary emotion than to create a necessary one. That is why one of the ways is to unleash a suitable emotion that will interrupt the unwanted one.
- Attention management
Once an elementary distraction, once a transfer of emotion. For example, when you want to cry — to think that now you need to be calm, but in an hour — I will cry enough.
- Create an emotion-incompatible physical state
Emotions and the body are inextricably linked with each other, and just as with the help of certain facial expressions, facial expressions and gestures it is easy to evoke most emotions in oneself, so most emotions can be removed, there is a face, voice and body state incompatible with this emotion. Once the actual emotion has been removed, it can be helpful to sort out the beliefs that contribute to the elicitation of the unwanted emotion. See Emotions and Beliefs
