Relsed is a sedative drug with anxiolytic and anti-traumatic properties. However, these are not all the uses of Relsed. Check what you need to know about this preparation. Find out its action, indications and contraindications.
Relsed – action
The active ingredient of Relsed is diazepam. The drug acts on the nervous system. Relsed has calming and relaxing properties. It makes it easier to fall asleep and has an effect on the spinal cord – it inhibits spinal reflexes. It also has anticonvulsant and anti-anxiety effects.

Relsed – indications
The drug is used during the treatment of:
- epileptic states,
- febrile seizures
- pregnant eclampsia,
- fast,
- anxiety attacks
- states of increased muscle tone,
- premedication before diagnostic and surgical procedures and sedation in the postoperative period.
Relsed – contraindications
In some situations the patient should not take the drug. This is, for example, hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the ingredients. In addition, it is not recommended to take Relsed when the patient suffers from:
- respiratory failure, especially severe,
- muscle tiredness,
- sleep apnea attacks,
- liver failure, especially severe
- phobias,
- compulsiveness,
- depression manifested by attempting suicide.
The patient should be especially careful when taking drugs that depress the central nervous system, cimetidine and omeprazole, theophylline and drugs that stimulate hepatic enzymes.

Relsed – side effects
In cases where the patient takes the drug despite contraindications or exceeds the recommended daily dose, there is a risk of side effects. They are:
- excessive sedation,
- somnolence,
- muscle weakness
- headache and dizziness
- blurred vision,
- confusion,
- problems with speech, breathing (apnea),
- slow heart rate,
- lowering blood pressure,
- changes in blood picture
- dry mouth,
- increasing appetite,
- changes in libido,
- menstrual disorders
- urinary retention,
- allergic skin reactions,
- tiredness.
The drug should only be used under medical supervision as it can lead to addiction.
Taking this medicine may affect your ability to drive. It is not recommended to drive any vehicle or machinery for 24 hours after taking the last dose.

Relsed and pregnancy
A doctor’s consultation is essential before taking any medication while pregnant or breastfeeding. In this case, the use of Relsed is not recommended.
The exception is the situation when the safer for the child counterparts do not bring the expected results. A woman who is planning a pregnancy should inform her doctor about it.
It is forbidden to take the preparation while breastfeeding.
