– In the summer, when the temperature on the thermometer is above 27 degrees, it is impossible to use heavy tonal means, and in general, there is a desire only to be constantly in the water. I often prefer refreshing tonics over thermal water because they not only cool the face, but also rid it of toxins and impurities.

Expectations: most tonics I came across had two drawbacks – they were sticky and stinging the eyes. Therefore, for me, the main determinants of a good tonic are its lightness, and of course, a pleasant aroma.

Reality: I have tried many tonics from 100 to 10 rubles and I can say for sure that the price is absolutely not an indicator of quality. Pros of tonic with ginseng – instant freshness of the face, removal of oily sheen, no sticky film. The product mattifies the skin and copes with its functions. The downside is a bright aroma that even remains on your face for some time, and if your skin is dry even in summer, you should pay attention to other tonics or choose thermal water.

Evaluation: 9 out of 10 points. I take off a point for a sharp aroma.

Expectations: there are cosmetics that you just love, and it does not matter, for 50 or 50 thousand rubles. And there is something that is pleasant to hold in your hands, and most often it is a “heavy” suite. In addition to its luxury, La mer produces really high-quality care products that save the driest, most demanding and problematic skin.

Reality: the exclusive La Mer Deconstructed Waters complex and other marine ingredients really refresh and tone the skin after cleansing. In addition, by removing the top layer, the toner does not dry out the skin, achieving a radiant effect. Naturally, the price of such a product is quite “biting”, but for those who like to pamper themselves with beauty treasures, I can recommend The Tonic from La Mer, which is 100 percent coping with its functions.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10 points. The hand does not rise to remove the point for the cost.

– In the summer, I keep the amount of care products to a minimum – I don’t want to overload the skin with unnecessary layers. However, if I can refuse the cream in the hot season, then I cannot do without a tonic. That is why I usually choose a multifunctional product that would cleanse the skin well, do not cause discomfort, remove excess fat from the face and slightly moisturize.

Expectations: first subject – Weleda tonic with a stunning natural composition. The product includes rosehip petal extract, witch hazel hydrolate and lemon juice – as they say, nothing superfluous. The only negative in the composition is alcohol. According to the manufacturer, the tonic is designed to refresh the skin, tone it up and tighten pores.

Reality: Weleda tonic smells very nice of natural herbs, but the aroma disappears very quickly. It really refreshes and cleanses well, but due to the presence of alcohol in the composition, it dries the skin a little. For owners of dry skin types, the remedy is unlikely to suit. For normal and oily skin, the toner is also harsh: it is better to use it exclusively in the summer or under a moisturizer. What I especially liked is that the tonic can be used to treat problem areas with inflammation. I must say, they heal much faster after using the tonic. Because of the alcohol, I use the invigorating tonic exclusively once a day and only on the T-zone, avoiding areas with dilated capillaries.

Rating: 8 out of 10. I took away two points for the alcohol in the composition and the drying effect. The rest of the tonic is very pleasant.

Expectations: Pureness is described as a cleansing water rather than a tonic. However, it has nothing to do with micellar, since it does not remove eye makeup. The description says that the tonic effectively removes impurities, refreshes and replenishes the lack of moisture. However, the product does not contain oils and alcohol.

Reality: Shiseido tonic does not dry out the skin, but leaves a thin film on it. It is this effect from any cosmetic product that is unacceptable to me. Despite the discomfort, the tonic did not clog the pores or provoke inflammation. And this is perhaps its only plus. The main disadvantage is its composition. There are many natural ingredients among the ingredients, but most of them are all chemistry and parabens, which have become my number one enemy for my skin.

Rating: 5 out of 10. I did not like the composition, the feeling on the skin and the lack of any effect from use.

– I’m not a fan of multi-stage face care: first a wash, then a mask, then a tonic, then a serum or fluid, and finally a face cream and an eye cream, and maybe something else. Uf. Probably, someday, in 10 years, it will come back to haunt me. Although … Somehow, after all, our mothers and grandmothers did without this cosmetic variety. In general, I sometimes forget about the serum, I use the mask once a week, and the tonic according to my mood. When does the mood appear? That’s right when you have to test something. So everything matched, the stars matched, so – tonic from LUSH!

Expectations: for some reason it seems to me that the tonic – especially its refreshing variations – is purely summer fun. It is in the hot season that you want to refresh your face, to significantly soften it. In general, find some kind of alternative to thermal water. It is with this goal in mind that I wanted to test the tonic from LUSH.

Reality: I think the manufacturers were counting on this when, firstly, they decided to make a tonic in the form of a spray, and secondly, they called it “Aroma”. It is really nice to use it instead of thermal water. So you want to freshen up on a hot summer day – a puff-puff on your face, and you smell, feel relief and freshness. If you want to soften your skin after a morning or evening wash, you can again immediately spray it on your face, or on a cotton pad, and only then wipe your face with it. With any kind of use, at any time of the day, the tonic will leave a pleasant freshness not only in sensations, but also in smell. The product is based on lavender and rose water. Do you need to choose words to describe this scent? I won’t even try, just take it and try it yourself!

Rating: 10 from 10… The tonic is wonderful. Just a little advice: if you decide to spray directly on your face, do it at a distance of at least 20 cm.

– I will not say that I am a fan of various tonics and makeup removers – I prefer to wash and refresh my skin with cool or mineral water. However, in summer, when the skin is actively exposed to sunlight, I try not to give up additional moisture. This time, for our regular column, I came across a product from the French brand Caudalie, which, as in the saying “a Swiss, a reaper, and a gamer,” can gently remove makeup and moisturize the skin. Well, let’s check what this miracle remedy is capable of!

Reality: I will say right away that I was worried in vain! The tonic turned out to be really good and (oh, miracle!) The manufacturers did not even cheat. The product is really suitable for any type of skin, especially dry (I, as the owner of sensitive skin, know this firsthand). The product is in a laconic 200 ml bottle, has a convenient dispenser and is consumed very economically. By the way, during the development, a special material was used, so the bottle does not slip even from wet hands. Agree, it’s very convenient!

The next thing I noticed during our first communication was a pleasant herbaceous grape smell! This unobtrusive aroma just won me over! The product has a rather liquid texture (reminiscent of oily water), perfectly cleanses, refreshes and tones. In addition, after applying the tonic, there is no “sticky film” and no feeling of tightness on the skin. I didn’t even have to run for moisturizers, without which my makeup removal routine usually ends. This time I even forgot about this ritual and remembered only by throwing another glance at the dressing table – my daily cream was still intact.

Rating: 10 out of 10. An excellent tonic product for its price!

– Not so long ago I used micellar water from the same Vichy series and was quite pleased with the product. Now I have the opportunity to try the Purete Thermale perfecting tonic. Reviews about him are different, I must say that there are many dissatisfied girls. This surprised me, as the brand has never let me down. I also have to try tonic of the Artistry brand, there will just be something to compare with. I must admit that I am not familiar with the care products of this brand at all, I used only decorative cosmetics.

Expectations: So let’s start with the first Vichy toner that removes makeup residues and tones the skin. Alcohol free. For all skin types.

I must say that Vichy has updated the Pureté Thermale line for cleansing – now there are nine products of all possible textures, among which, as they promise, there are suitable for any skin, and this is very pleasing.

All line products are based on Vichy mineral water. Another key ingredient is glycerin. It is added to make the skin feel as comfortable after washing as after a thermal spa treatment, and you do not need to urgently look for an anti-tightness remedy.

This information gave me great hope. After washing my face, I immediately needed a moisturizer, so there was hope that the discomfort would finally leave me.

Reality: in fact, the effect did not impress me at all, but, on the contrary, upset me. The skin after it looks oily and shiny, although hydration is not felt at all! There is even a feeling of a light mask on the face. I wanted to go and wash after 10 minutes after application. Although the toner removes the remnants of dirt from the skin after washing very well, this is its only plus, in my opinion.

Evaluation: I give a rating of three, I would not use this tool all the time. In the morning, for sure. You can cleanse your skin in the evenings and go to sleep right away so that the unpleasant film does not start to unnerve.

Expectations: as I wrote above, I don’t know anything about Artistry brand care products. So the effect after use was a real surprise.

Reality: tonic perfectly tones the skin. The pleasant scent of freshness makes the cleansing procedure even more pleasant.

The tool in general caused me only positive emotions. Not to mention how this tonic decorated the shelf in the bathroom – due to its spectacular appearance.

Evaluation: put a solid top ten. The tonic copes with its task brilliantly. No oily sheen, the skin is perfectly cleansed and well-groomed. I did not experience the slightest feeling of discomfort after application. I advise everyone!

– In the last two years, I somehow completely stopped using tonics for the face, I got very hooked on rose water. But, I must admit, although it refreshes, it does not cleanse. And in the summer, alas, I already wake up with oily skin. After a day in the stuffy atmosphere, my face all the more needs a thorough cleansing. So I had to switch to tonic.

Expectations: we have already told you about the Thermes Marins de Saint-Malo brand. She specializes in care based on marine ingredients with an emphasis on relaxation. All cosmetics are made from natural ingredients. Let’s see how they cope with my capricious skin. I remember that the cleansing milk of this brand did not suit me at all.

Reality: what a scent it has! That’s what bribed me right away – the fragrances. But the remedy itself did not disappoint – the tonic gently cleanses the skin, while it really works. For me, the indicator of this is the marks on the cotton pad. Even after cleansing with foam, the tonic found the excess and removed them. There are no alcohols in the composition, so the skin did not tingle or dry out – absolutely comfortable sensations. After leaving in the morning, I even stopped applying the cream.

Another plus of this tonic is a fairly large volume. 400 ml, I think, will be enough for me for a long time.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10. There is only one minus – the price. But, considering that the tonic is really of excellent quality, I am ready to pay for the beauty of the facial skin.

– The word “tonic” carries me away with memories at the age of 12, when my mother first brought home a tube with the inscription “Cucumber” and offered to wipe it with an inflamed teenage face every night before going to bed. The liquid smelled good, but the pimples did not get less. Later I learned that an effective remedy is, first of all, a high-quality remedy, and secondly, one that is selected for your skin type. Otherwise, it will do more harm than good.

Expectations: lotion-spray enriched with healing Korean herbs that soften the skin and make it velvety. Moisturizes, gives freshness, removes traces of fatigue, restores.

Reality: I have become an ardent admirer of Erborian cosmetics for a long time. The whole line has an amazing caring effect, so the result of using the new spray lotion did not come as a surprise to me.

The product cleans perfectly. After use, the skin looks moisturized, there is a feeling that every cell on the face begins to breathe. Well, after prolonged use, it also becomes noticeably cleaner and acquires the effect of a natural glow.

In short, the tonic did not disappoint. But the packaging did not seem very convenient. I still like the usual bottles, not spray jars.

Rating: 9 of 10 points. Minus for the packaging, although some will disagree and will praise the manufacturer for creating an economical bottle.
