Perhaps the point is in the long cooking of this product, although when cooked correctly, red beans will delight you with a pleasant and delicate taste. First, sort out the beans. Sometimes you come across small stones and debris in it, which can spoil the taste of the dish.

Soak the beans in cold boiled water for 8-12 hours. Thanks to this, it will cook faster and be very soft, which will make it easier to digest and eliminate possible bloating.

It is very important to use boiled water, otherwise the beans will remain solid.

How much to cook to make it tasty

Before cooking, be sure to rinse the dark beans, cover with clean water and bring to a boil over very low heat. Ideally, the beans should boil for about 30-60 minutes. And during cooking, it practically should not boil.

A sign that beans are ready is their softness. Only such a product can be eaten, since undercooked beans are capable of releasing substances harmful to humans.

On average, soaked dark beans should be boiled for 50-60 minutes.

Salt the beans only at the end of cooking. And to spend less time preparing it and improve its taste, add a spoonful of vegetable oil to the water.

It is no coincidence that red beans are a must-have on a vegetarian table – they are not inferior to meat in terms of protein content. In addition, it contains many vitamins C, PP, B1, B2 and B6. Thanks to this, it helps to strengthen the immune system and improves the condition of the skin and has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the nervous system.

Beans are rich in minerals, especially zinc, copper and potassium. In addition, it contains a large amount of fiber, sulfur and iron. But the most important thing is that beans do not lose their beneficial properties during cooking.

Get the Recipe: Red Bean Salad

Ingredients: – 200 g of red beans, – 100 g of pickled honey agarics; – 1 head of red onion; – 1 tbsp. a spoonful of olive oil; – 1 teaspoon of soy sauce; – ½ bunch of parsley; – salt and pepper to taste.

Wash the red beans soaked in advance, cover with clean water and cook until soft, not forgetting to add salt at the end of cooking. You need to cook it for at least 50 minutes. Then fold it in a colander so that it glass and cools.

Peel the red onion, wash and cut into thin half rings. Then pour boiling water for a couple of minutes to remove all the bitterness from it. Drain the boiling water and dry the onions.

Put onions and beans in a salad bowl, add pickled mushrooms to them. Season with salt and pepper; how much these seasonings are needed, determine for yourself. Season the salad with olive oil and soy sauce, stir and chill slightly in the refrigerator. Then stir again and serve.
