On Friday, UNHSA warned that if the current rate of growth continued, there could be one million Omikron infections in the UK by the end of December. She also said that both AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines offer significantly less protection against the symptomatic variant of Omikron compared to Delta, but the vaccine booster increases significantly – to 70-75 percent.
