If you decide to treat your home with delicious pickled apples and cabbage, you need to take care of choosing the right fruits. After all, not all apples are suitable for such preservation. Most often, autumn and winter varieties are used for urination, such as Antonovka, Anis, Pepin, Pepin saffron, Golden, Titovka and others.
Unfortunately, when buying apples in a store, we do not know either the name or the ripening period of the fruit. That is why the choice is based on the following parameters:
- Apples should be sweet and sour, with a pronounced aroma.
- In addition, the fruits should be firm, not starchy, ripe but not softened.
- Apples with damage, wormholes, hints of rot or defects should be discarded immediately.
- You can use apples of any color, the taste of soaked apples does not deteriorate from this, as long as they have sourness in them.
- Before urinating with cabbage, apples are kept for 2 weeks in a dark, cool place.

The first layer is cabbage with carrots, then apples. The voids are densely filled with vegetable composition. So we put the jar to the top in layers. The last layer is cabbage and carrots. We cover with a cabbage leaf, insert a nylon cover, oppress it, a towel on top so that it does not get dust.
After a while, the juice will stand out. It must close the lid. From time to time, you need to pierce the contents of the jar with something sharp and thin, for example, a knitting needle, so that the gas released escapes.

- cabbage – 4 kg;
