Recipe for beer sticks (cheesy and salty)

Properly prepared cheese or bread sticks do not interrupt the taste of beer, on the contrary, they complement and saturate it better than the usual nuts, squid and chips. The next time you decide to take home a few bottles of your favorite beer, I advise you to remember these recipes. Their implementation does not require rare ingredients and will take no more than half an hour.

In both cases, beer sticks are served only hot; when cold, they lose some of their taste and light, unique aroma. It is better to fry the “blanks” in small batches as they are eaten.

Breaded cheese sticks

An appetizer quickly gaining popularity among beer connoisseurs, a similar dish can now be ordered in many Russian bars, but the best option is to make it at home.

Ingredients:

  • hard cheese – 500 grams;
  • flour – 200 grams;
  • eggs – 3 pieces;
  • fresh milk (water) – 100 ml;
  • breadcrumbs (crumbs of dry white bread) – 100 grams;
  • sunflower oil – depends on the pan.
  • salt, pepper, other spices – to taste.

For ordinary light beer, it is better to take neutral varieties of cheese without a pronounced taste. Dark beer pairs well with sweet or bitter spiced cheeses.

Recipe:

1. Cut the cheese into small thin sticks 10 cm long and 1-2 cm thick.

2. Beat eggs together with salt, spices and milk (water).

3. Add flour to the resulting mixture and mix well.

4. Roll each cheese stick first in the egg-flour mixture, then in breadcrumbs. Top with sesame seeds.

5. Heat sunflower oil in a small high frying pan (oil layer at least 6-7 cm).

6. Fry the sticks for 1-3 minutes, then wrap them in paper towels to remove excess fat.

Serve hot neat or with herbs and sauces such as tomato, garlic or mushrooms. To prepare garlic sauce with sour cream, it is enough to mix 250 grams of sour cream with two squeezed heads of garlic and the juice of a third of a medium-sized lemon. Then add finely chopped parsley, salt and pepper. Dilute the finished sauce with boiled water to the consistency of kefir.

Ingredients:

  • flour – 400 grams;
  • milk – 200 ml;
  • butter – 120 grams;
  • sugar – 1 tablespoon;
  • dry yeast – 15 grams;
  • eggs – 2 pieces;
  • salt and cumin – to taste.

Technology of preparation:

1. Dissolve yeast together with sugar in warm milk (24-28°C).

2. Melt the butter in a frying pan.

3. Pour the yeast solution into the flour, then beat in one egg, add salt and melted butter.

4. Knead a stiff dough, put it in a deep plate and refrigerate for 2 hours.

5. Roll out the cold dough into a thin layer 5-6 mm thick, then cut into narrow strips 2 cm wide and 10 cm long.

6. Beat one egg.

7. Put the sticks on a baking sheet, grease them with a beaten egg, sprinkle with salt and caraway seeds on top.

8. Bake in the oven until golden brown.
