chlorhexidine. This antimicrobial component, destroying pathogenic microflora, also disrupts the normal flora of the oral cavity, which performs a protective function. Parabens. Not officially banned for use by the European Union Scientific Committee on Consumer Products. However, currently only two types of parabens have been confirmed to be safe: methyl parabens and ethyl parabens.
