Raspberry tale: variety description

Raspberry “Fairy Tale” is a remontant variety of raspberries, bred recently. High yield, good transportability and versatility in use attract large entrepreneurs involved in the cultivation of raspberries.

Description of the raspberry variety “Fairy Tale”

Raspberries grow well in the southern regions and easily endure mild winters, withstand frosts down to -23 degrees. It can be grown in colder regions, but needs to be covered for the winter. This is a medium-ripening variety, with a short summer it manages to yield a harvest.

Raspberry fruits “Fairy Tale” have an oblong shape

“Fairy tale” is characterized by the following features:

  • The berries are very large, up to 15 g, sweet, juicy, aromatic. They hold firmly and do not crumble after ripening.
  • Fruit berries retain their presentation for a long time, which ensures high transportability of the product. This attracts not only amateur gardeners, but also large farms.
  • Raspberry bushes are low, the shoots give little. But in the second year, twigs grow from the main shoot, giving new shoots, as a result of which the bush becomes more spreading and the yield increases significantly. 5-6 kg of berries can be removed from the bush.

The variety is of average winter hardiness, drought-resistant and immune to disease. There are no thorns on the stems.

Care for raspberries of the “Fairy Tale” variety

This variety of raspberries reproduces mainly by cuttings. It gives little overgrowth, and you will have to wait a long time to get enough planting material. But this has its plus – the variety does not grow throughout the garden. For the successful cultivation of raspberries, it is necessary to carry out a number of activities:

  • Plant seedlings exclusively in a sunny place, in the shade, raspberries wither and do not bear fruit. The plant does not like drafts – strong winds break delicate twigs, and the yield decreases.
  • The row spacing during planting should be at least 1,5 meters, and the distance between the bushes should be at least 45 cm. This will provide good aeration and sun access to all branches, as a result of which the harvest will be friendly and abundant.

Watering should not be overused, as raspberries do not tolerate moisture stagnation. To prevent this from happening in a rainy time, it is necessary to dig grooves in the row between rows, along which excess water will go away.

In the fall, it is imperative to cut off the bushes, clean up old, dried up and weak branches and leave the strongest and healthiest ones. Strongly overgrown bushes bear fruit poorly and their fruits are small

With proper care at the peak of fruiting, raspberries have a fabulous appearance, which is why the variety got its name. And thanks to its properties, it quickly won the trust of domestic gardeners.
