Raspberries
They have many varieties that vary in size, shape and color. Most of them are aromatic and tasty, and importantly, they are also very healthy:
- 100 g of raspberries contain about 7 g of dietary fiber, which improves intestinal peristalsis and reduces the feeling of hunger.
- have diaphoretic and antibacterial properties thanks to the content of salicylic acid, tannins and essential oils.
- contain egalic acid, which has antibacterial, antiviral, analgesic and blood pressure lowering properties.
- thanks to the content of polyphenols, they have an antioxidant effect.
- contain malic acid, citric acid and a lot of minerals and vitamins, e.g. vitamin C, potassium, magnesium.
In processing, intensely colored varieties, such as Baskid, are used in particular. They are most often used for the production of jams, preserves, jellies, juices, wines and frozen foods.
Blackberries
Blackberries are very similar to raspberries in terms of their chemical composition and structure.
- have a very high antioxidant value, thanks to the impressive content of polyphenolic compounds (anthocyanins, catechin, epicatechna, quercetin, egalic acid).
- anti-inflammatory, diaphoretic, expectorant and strengthening properties.
- they show anti-cancer properties, especially in the case of the large intestine.
- they have a lot of dietary fiber (5,3 g / 100 g), although a little less than raspberries.
In processing, blackberries are used for the production of juices, jams, preserves, wines, liqueurs and liqueurs.
It is worth using the raspberries and blackberries season and add them to your meals fresh as often as possible. They are not only tasty, but also very valuable.
