Anyone who has looked after a sick child at least once knows that even the simplest activity, which is measuring the temperature, is often impossible to perform. A toddler with a runny nose, cough and weakness is grumpy, tearful and irritable. Therefore, it is important to choose equipment that allows you to measure even while your baby is asleep without having to wake up. How to choose the best non-contact thermometer at a reasonable price?
Functions of non-contact thermometers
For several years, non-contact thermometers have been replacing the traditional ones known from our childhood mercury thermometers. And rightly so – they are not only safer, especially in the hands of a small child, but also more accurate, and the time of temperature measurement is shorter. This is important, especially when the fever affects a small child and attempts to measure his armpit temperature fail.
A non-contact thermometer doesn’t have to be expensive. Models ideal for use at home do not have to cost more than PLN 100. But what should you pay attention to when choosing such a device? What features should it have?
- Fast temperature measurement. Thanks to this function, the measurement result will be displayed on the device after a few seconds. We will no longer have to wait 2 minutes for the final measurement result, as it was when using traditional thermometers.
- Memory function for previous measurements. It will be especially useful in diseases, when we need to check if the temperature drops after administration of an antipyretic.
