This article will teach you how to create a random (shuffled) list in Excel. For example, we want to create a random list in a column А (see picture below):
- Highlight a cell V1 and paste the function SLCHIS (RAND).
- Pinch the bottom right corner of the cell B1 and stretch it down to V8.
- Click on any number from the list in the column B.
- On the Advanced tab Data (Data) click the button Z-A (ZA) or AND I (A-Z).
Result: Random list in column А (more precisely, a list that is sorted by random numbers from a column B):
Note: The random numbers change each time Excel performs a recalculation on the worksheet. If you don’t want this, just copy the random numbers and paste them as values.
