Radirex is a laxative medicine. Its composition includes the rooting root (powdered). Due to the content of anthranoid compounds, it has a laxative effect.

The preparation stimulates intestinal peristalsis, limits the amount of water and electrolytes absorbed by the large intestine. As a result, Radirex hydrates the stool and increases the stool mass, and also supports the digestive processes by increasing the secretion of bile.

Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients is a contraindication to the use of the drug. Additionally, it is not recommended to consume the drug when the patient suffers from:

  1. bowel obstruction,
  2. intestinal atony,
  3. acute and chronic inflammatory bowel diseases,
  4. appendicitis,
  5. haemorrhoids (hemorrhoids),
  6. glomerulonephritis,
  7. oxalate urolithiasis,
  8. unexplained abdominal pain,
  9. diarrhea
  10. dehydration of the body with electrolyte imbalance.

Radirex – extreme caution

In some cases, the patient should exercise extreme caution. Care should be taken to closely monitor the body after ingestion of the drug. If side effects occur, stop taking Radirex and consult a doctor.

The case that requires special attention is taking the drug for more than two weeks – the body may become resistant to the substances contained in the preparation. In such cases, the doctor usually recommends a drug with higher doses of laxatives.

Abuse of the drug may contribute to the discoloration of the intestinal mucosa, disturbances in the water and electrolyte balance, and disturbances in the smooth muscle tone of the colon.

  2. diarrhea,
  3. abdominal pain and / or cramps (especially in patients with irritable bowel syndrome),
  4. decreased potassium in the blood (hypokalaemia)
  5. heart rhythm disturbances and neuromuscular disorders,
  6. reversible pigment changes in the mucosa of the large intestine,
  7. proteinuria,
  8. hematuria,
  9. impaired motor function of the large intestine,
  10. discoloration of urine (which is not clinically relevant).
