«If my wife is present in a dream, then the dream speaks of my wife or my relationship with her.» Something like this would be the reasoning of a person who is not familiar with the work of dreaming. This conclusion would be incorrect.

«If my wife is present in a dream, then the dream speaks of my wife or my relationship with her.» Something like this would be the reasoning of a person who is not familiar with the work of dreaming. This conclusion would be incorrect. The unconscious — the creator of the dream — uses familiar images to embody in them the qualities inherent in the dreamer — or necessary for him. For example, if the wife is frugal, this could indicate the need to save something. However, the exact meaning always depends on the specific life experience of each person. Although analyzing one’s own dream is not easy even for a sophisticated analyst, the step-by-step system presented in the book makes this task feasible for anyone interested in such research. It includes four stages: to find exact associations with dream images, to establish their connection with the events of the dreamer’s internal development, to extract the meanings contained in them and to consolidate the results obtained. General recommendations are supported by examples of specific work at each stage. The author was trained at the Jung Institute in Zurich (Switzerland), got acquainted with spiritual practices while traveling in India, was a Benedictine monk, wrote 12 books on Jungian analysis, four of which were translated into Russian.
