Any automatic washing machine has a quick wash mode. So, the user can freshen things for daily wear, while spending a minimum of time and energy.

Advantages and disadvantages of quick wash
It would seem that the “Quick Wash” function can always be used, because it is convenient and economical. But it’s not.
The fact is that the program takes place at low temperatures. In such conditions, you can wash lightly soiled things that you change every day: T-shirts, socks, shirts, blouses. At the same time, the fabric should not have complex and old stains. A quick cycle only allows you to refresh the laundry and rid it of an unpleasant odor.
Therefore:
- It is inefficient to wash heavily soiled and worn items in this mode.
- Also, towels and bed linen are not washed properly.
- This is an intensive program, so it is not suitable for thin, delicate fabrics, as well as items that need to be washed by hand.
- The maximum effect can be obtained when the drum is half loaded. Detergent also needs to be used less. At low temperatures, the powder granules do not dissolve well, so the laundry will not be rinsed when fully loaded.
At what degree does fast mode work? The water temperature is 30-40 degrees. It is not always possible to use the program, since in order to remove dust mites and stubborn dirt, you need to run a full wash cycle at 60 degrees.
If you smell a musty smell from the laundry or from the drum, it means it’s time to start the hot water cycle. Constant operation of the washing machine in cold water leads to the formation of mold and fungus on the cuff of the hatch, which then get on your clothes.
How long does a quick wash take?
How many minutes does the Quick Wash take? Depending on the model of the washing machine, the cycle time is from 30 to 40 minutes. There is a “Super Fast Wash” program that will take 15 minutes.

How to use the mode correctly
Sort the laundry before loading. Separate things from each other by type of fabric, separate white clothes from colored ones. Set aside heavily soiled laundry with stains for a full wash cycle.

- Soak items for 20 minutes first.
- Scrub difficult stains with soap.
- Wring out the laundry and load it into the washing machine.
- Turn on the Quick Wash program.

What to do if the quick wash does not work
If this program does not work in your machine or there is no mode with this name at all, pay attention to other cycles. For different manufacturers, this mode may be called “Quick wash”, “Fast”, “Express mode”, “Quick 30” and so on. All programs that last less than 40 minutes are suitable for you.
If you do not know how to install and enable a quick program, you will be prompted by special icons on the control panel. Turn the toggle switch so that it points to the mode designation and start the program.
This also applies to top-loading machines.
It happens that the mode does not start at all, the light flashes. Then check if the hatch door is tightly closed. If everything is in order, restart the washer by doing this:
- Unplug the machine.
- Wait 15-20 minutes.
- Turn on the washer again. If the program starts normally, then an error has occurred in the system.

- In the Bosch washing machine (Bosch) there are several varieties of this mode. Quick wash for mixed laundry that does not require special care. It is marked with a dress, shirt and bodysuit icon. There is also a short program “Super Fast Wash”, lasting 15 minutes. Indicated by a dial.
- Manufacturers of SMA Samsung (Samsung) took care of convenient navigation, so they simply signed all the modes. For lightly soiled laundry, the “Quick 29” mode is enabled.
- Two programs have been developed for Hotpoint-Ariston machines (Ariston): “Quick wash 60 and 30”. One program allows you to wash things at 60 degrees, the other at 30.
- The Siemens control panel (Siemens) has two designations for the “Super” mode – a duration of 15 and 30 minutes. This is the dial icon on the panel.
- Manufacturers LG (LG) also decided not to come up with designations and signed the Fast 30 program. At 30 degrees you can wash cotton and synthetic items.
- The icon on the SM Indesit (Indesit) is made in the form of a dial, which means “Quick 30”.
- A basin with the number 32 on the Candy panel (Kandy) means that you can start a quick program.
- The symbols on Veko, Zanussi and Electrolux washing machines are exactly the same as on other models.
