The Quick Access Toolbar and document view modes make the Microsoft Excel user’s work much more efficient. The Quick Access Toolbar lets you keep your most frequently used commands at your fingertips, while View Modes let you change how your worksheet is displayed. In this lesson, we will get acquainted with these elements of the Excel interface in more detail.
Quick Access Toolbar
The Quick Access Toolbar, located above the Ribbon, allows you to access the most frequently used Microsoft Excel commands, regardless of which tab is currently active. Commands are displayed by default Save, cancel и Return. You can add any other commands of your choice.
Adding commands to the Quick Access Toolbar
- Click on the arrow to the right of the Quick Access Toolbar.
- Select the command you would like to add from the drop-down menu. If the required commands are not in the list, select the item Other teams.
- The command will appear on the Quick Access Toolbar.
Book View Modes
Excel 2013 has a wide range of viewing modes that affect the display of a workbook. You can see the book at The usual mode, Page layout or Paged. Features can come in handy when performing various tasks in Microsoft Excel, especially when preparing a document for printing.
- To select viewing modes, find the corresponding icons in the lower right corner of the Excel workbook.
Normal: This view mode is set by default for all Microsoft Excel worksheets. In this mode you work most of your time
Page layout: This mode will allow you to imagine how the sheet will look when printed. In addition, here you can add headers, as well as headers and footers.
Page: This mode allows you to easily change the position of page breaks in your document, which is especially useful when printing large amounts of data from Excel.
