PVC boat trailers, how to choose a boat

Designed for the transport of boats. This is a specialized device that provides not only the movement of the boat at any distance, but also the launching of a floating vehicle into the water without human assistance.

Boat trailers are divided into:

• flat bottom trailers;
• trailer with a frame, for transporting all types of vessels equipped with a keel.

By design, trailers can be single-axle and dual-axle.

Uniaxial

Trailers are less practical and create certain difficulties during transportation, but they are cheaper. Single-axle trailers must be matched to the overall size of the boat, then the risk of unsuccessful cornering can be reduced.

biaxial

Designs are more practical, more stable, but also more expensive. It is very convenient to transport PVC boats on them, since they have a higher carrying capacity, and better cross-country ability on difficult ground.

How to choose

If a PVC boat is being transported, then the trailer must have a winch, with the support of which the floating vehicle is loaded onto the trailer and launched into the water.

In addition, the trailer must have brakes.

How to transport

The trailer allows you to move the vessel, both with an engine and without it. One way or another, you need to be careful and attentive, not forgetting that there is a trailer behind the car.

The trailer allows you to transport the vessel at a speed of up to 100 km / h, as with any other cargo. Naturally, it is better to transport a boat with a motor, then you will have to spend less time lowering it into the water. This is especially true when moving the boat over short distances, but on a good road. If the track is flat, then the motor can be upright, ready to go.

Due consideration should be given to off-road transportation of PVC boats. Therefore, boat anchoring should be taken very seriously. The same applies to the motor mount. In this case, it is better to transport the motor in an inclined position.

Specificity of transportation of PVC boats

Any boat that is not properly secured can be damaged, especially when transported over rough terrain. To reduce the friction of the inflatable parts, the boat should be well fixed, and a soft tape should be glued on the guides.

Trailer decoration

Like a regular trailer, a trailer for transporting a PVC boat is subject to registration with the traffic police. Within 10 days after purchase, it should be registered. If its weight exceeds 700 kg at the same time as the transported boat, then it will be necessary to obtain a driver’s category.

For registration, you must provide the following documents:

• passport;
• vehicle certificate – PTS;
• trailer sale and purchase agreement;
• three receipts certifying the payment of state duty;
• application;
• temporary numbers, if any;
• for drivers with category B, an OSAGO certificate is not required.

A do-it-yourself trailer is also subject to registration. If this is not done, then the traffic police can easily take it away and put it on a fine site. In fact, a vehicle made in a handicraft way is unlikely to be fixed. Some owners outweigh the numbers from the old trailer to the new ones.

It is very important that the trailer matches the overall dimensions of the floating craft.

Trailers weighing up to 3,5 tons do not require technical verification.
