Cupping is a very old method of treating many diseases. It used to be a common method of treatment, but today it is classified as an alternative medicine. To this day, cupping is popular in the Federation, where it most likely came from Asia. This method of treatment was also extremely popular in Arab countries.

What is this almost legendary bubble making?

A bubble is a small, oval-shaped glass vessel with a large opening at the base. Such a bubble, in order to “put” and fix it on the patient’s body, should be moistened at the base with water, and its interior, using a cotton pad, rubbed with denatured alcohol or spirit; then set it on fire and immediately put it in the right place on the body. In the process of burning denatured alcohol or spirit, a vacuum will be created inside the bulb and it will stick very tightly to the patient’s skin.

According to medical specialists today, there is no formal evidence that this treatment is effective. However, in alternative medicine, cupping cups have been popular for many decades and are used for diseases such as bronchitis, pneumonia and other upper respiratory tract infections. In addition, supporters of this method of treatment claim that it helps in the fight against hypertension or even rheumatism. You can also find information about their relaxing effect and eliminating the accumulated stress. Despite the fact that cupping still has many supporters, doctors often argue that this method only works as a placebo.

Types of bubbles

We divide the bubbles into three basic types. These are classic glass bubbles. They suck into the body by burning denatured alcohol or spirit and the resulting vacuum inside the bubble. The second type of bubbles is glass with a valve through which air is sucked in from inside. This creates a vacuum and fixes the cup to the body. The third type is rubber bulbs, here the negative pressure is created by squeezing and decompressing the rubber bulb applied to the patient’s skin.

Local cupping leads to the accumulation of a significant amount of blood from tiny, capillary blood vessels in one place. Something similar to a hematoma is formed and the body treats the collected blood as a foreign body and removes it. This is to mobilize the body to fight disease and pain, according to the supporters of this method.

The effectiveness and application of bubbles in children

The cupping method is still extremely popular today, especially in the treatment of upper respiratory tract diseases in children. If the cups are placed by an experienced person or by a specialist, this method is completely safe and non-invasive for a young organism. However, cupping is not recommended for toddlers under three and, according to some, even four years old. Before starting the cupping process, the child’s skin should be prepared in an appropriate manner: rub it with a warming ointment, which will lubricate the child’s skin. To purchase the appropriate ointment, go to the pharmacy or consult a pediatrician. You can also use ordinary medical white petroleum jelly, which you can buy at any pharmacy for a few zlotys. However, remember to warm up your hands before rubbing the ointment or petroleum jelly by rubbing the palm of your hand against each other vigorously, and of course not to let the ointment or petroleum jelly stain your baby’s hair, as it is extremely difficult to remove.

It is very important that the room where you proceed to put bubbles on the baby is warm and draft-free. The point is not to expose the child to hypothermia, as this can lead to a deterioration of his condition. Now the most important thing: before starting the cupping procedure, read the instructions for this procedure so as not to hurt the patient. This method is recommended for children who are often ill because it improves the condition and immunity of the young person’s body.

Contraindications, i.e. when cupping is not recommended

Cupping is widely recognized as a safe method, but there are a few cases when this vacuum medicine procedure is not recommended. These cases include all skin lesions or skin wounds. High temperature and negative pressure inside the cup will only worsen the inflammation of the skin of a child or adult and we will achieve the opposite effect to the intended one. All vacuum medicine specialists advise against the use of cupping cups in people suffering from asthma and blood clotting problems. This also applies to people who are taking medications that reduce blood clotting.

Particular care should also be taken with heart diseases and sudden jumps in blood pressure. It is also not recommended to put bubbles during high fever (above 38,5 degrees Celsius) and, of course, in the case of cancer. However, apart from these contraindications, it is a completely safe and often effective method of treatment.

Setting fireless bubbles and their effectiveness compared to classic bubbles

Fireless bubbles are a newer and less invasive version of the classic fire bubbles. There are two types of fireless bubbles on the market: glass, silicone or rubber. They are extremely easy to use and safer to use. Thanks to them, the classic fire bubbles have lost their popularity and have been replaced by convenient and safe glass bubbles with an air suction valve and even simpler rubber or silicone bubbles, the set of which can be purchased for a dozen or so zlotys through internet portals or in stationary stores specializing in in the sale of accessories for alternative and natural medicine. Their effectiveness is the same as that of classic fire bubbles. In addition, they are much more convenient and safe to use, which gives us additional comfort and a sense of security during the procedure. In the case of a fireless bulb, we eliminate the stress factor in a child as well as in a person inexperienced in this method of treatment.

The cupping method is still triumphant today and is popular despite the fact that classical medicine negates its effectiveness.
