Pushups with a narrow focus — technique exercises:

  1. Lie on the floor face down. Press your palms into the floor. The palms should be at a distance less than the width of the shoulders. Straighten your arms, keeping your weight on outstretched arms.
  2. On the inhale, sink down, bending your elbows. Continue the movement until your chest almost touches the floor.
  3. Straining your triceps and abdominals, exhale return to starting position, straightening the arms.
  4. After a short pause repeat the movement, performing the required number of repetitions.

Variations:

  1. To facilitate the exercise, bend your legs, resting on the floor, not toes, and knees.
  2. To complicate the exercise, place feet on a raised surface such as a bench.
