What could be the causes of the appearance of pus in the throat?

Hello, I would like to know what they are causes of pus in the throat? This rather unpleasant ailment appeared with me a few days ago. I’ve never had such problems before, but this year I have colds all the time. I have no way to go to the doctor at this point and I would like to get rid of it quickly. Are there any home remedies for pus in the throat? Maybe some medications or lotions to make it pus in the throat will disappear?

I have no idea where this problem came from, because it is not angina – I do not have a very high fever, I just cough a bit, but I do not know if it is the lung’s fault or the fault purulent discharge in the throat. Anyway, the pus in my throat has become a big problem for me, because I have the impression that you can even feel it in my breath. I read that squeezing pus in the throat is a good way to squeeze it out of the tonsils, which supposedly solves the problem. However, I am afraid that this will only hurt myself or not get rid of the pus in my throat at all. And is the tonsils always the cause of pus in the throat? Maybe it’s something else for me?

The doctor explains why pus may appear in the throat

Maybe we’ll start with what oil really is? This is the content, typically white-yellow, yellow, yellow-brown in color, forming at the site of bacterial or fungal inflammation. If such pus is limited by tissue and forms a non-communicating space, it is called an empyema. The pus consists of dissolved, necrotic tissue from the site of inflammation and millions of neutrophils.

The most common cause of pus in the throat is a bacterial infection. The angina mentioned by Mrs. concerns the tonsils. It is most common in children, adolescents and young adults, and may also affect the elderly. Its main symptoms include fever> 38 degrees C, present, visible during the examination infiltration on the tonsils (the tonsils are not only pink but have a whitish coating), typically there is no coughing, and the anterior cervical lymph nodes are typically enlarged.

Keep in mind, however, that although pus appears in the throat, it does not mean that it was “produced” there. The pharyngeal cavity is also connected with the nasal cavity and the oral cavity, and pus from these areas can move from its spaces to the throat.

Which means, that causes of pus in the throat there may be more than you initially think, and a medical examination seems to play a key role – be it by a family doctor or an ENT specialist. It is the doctor who, after taking a thorough history and physical examination of not only the oral cavity area, but also the lymph nodes, lungs and abdominal cavity, will be able to decide whether to order additional tests or administer antibacterial treatment based on a medical history and physical examination.

As mentioned above, the appearance of pus is usually the result of a bacterial infection, and bacterial infections do not respond to home remedies, but to antibiotics, and if what you think is pus, it actually is – home remedies do not exist, only antibiotics can help fight the infection. This is also why a visit to the doctor is most appropriate.
