Pumpkin syrup: a spicy recipe at home

A distinctive feature of this syrup is the incredible taste and aroma of ripe pumpkins, when combined with cinnamon and cloves.

The syrup is ideal for lattes, teas, hot chocolates and a range of desserts.

Making Pumpkin Syrup

Ingredients

  1. Water – 250 ml

  2. Dry ginger – 1,5 tbsp. l.

  3. Ground coriander – 0,5 tsp.

  4. Ground cinnamon – 1,5 tbsp. l.

  5. Ground nutmeg – 1,5 tbsp. l.

  6. Sugars – 200 g

  7. Fresh pumpkin – 350 g

Method of preparation

  1. Peel the pumpkin and cut into small pieces.

  2. Combine pumpkin and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat until tender. This takes approximately 10-12 minutes (depending on the type of pumpkin).

  3. Grind the pumpkin along with the broth to a puree state with a blender or pusher.

  4. Add sugar and spices.

  5. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. Cool the pumpkin syrup and pour into jars, close the lids. Send to refrigerator.
