Looking for newer and newer cosmetics that will have a beneficial effect on the condition of our skin, it is worth stopping for a moment at those using calamus extract and pumpkin extract. Both of these ingredients have a great effect on the skin of our body, tightening it, eliminating wrinkles, improving its color. How else do they affect the skin?
Sweet flag: what is this plant?
It is a common plant species found in North America and Asia. Calamus is a perennial that has been brought by man to other continents. It probably appeared in Europe in the XNUMXth century. In Poland, it is currently an extremely popular plant, growing very densely.
Common calamus has many properties. It is used as an edible plant, giving oil, as well as medicinal and cosmetic.
Calamus in cosmetics
- First of all, calamus oil is used to produce aromatic perfumes. The oil itself does not have a dazzling fragrance, but it transmits fragrances well, so it can be used as a fragrance fixative;
- The use of sweet flag extract in the bath will allow for congestion of the skin, which will remove harmful metabolic products from it;
- Calamus extract also has a lightening effect on the hair (however, the coloring of the hair is slight). It also prevents the formation of scalp diseases, including dandruff and seborrhea;
- Calamus extract cleanses the skin, nourishes it;
- It has an anti-wrinkle effect.
Pumpkin extract: what action is attributed to it?
Pumpkin extract is used in cosmetics less frequently than calamus extract. However, the properties of these two substances are similar. Pumpkin extract is called elastonyl. It is particularly used in the production of body and face skin care cosmetics.
Pumpkin extract in cosmetics and its features
- Pumpkin extract protects the collagen fibers in the skin. It is especially recommended for use on the skin of the face, neck and cleavage;
- Elastonyl primarily limits the functions of “bad” enzymes that destroy collagen fibers of the skin and elastin fibers;
- Pumpkin extract, in addition to the above-mentioned inhibitory effect, also stimulates the synthesis of the above components: elastin and collagen fibers. Restores the skin’s ability to regenerate cells;
- Pumpkin extract also improves microcirculation.
Both ingredients, both calamus extract and pumpkin extract, are available in many pharmacies. They can be successfully used to produce your own natural home cosmetics. We recommend!
