Pumpkin, like any other garden plant, contains vitamins and essential trace elements. In theory, it is considered useful. There are also some limitations associated with eating pumpkin.
- Pumpkin for gastritis with low acidity is prohibited for consumption raw. In boiled and stewed form, the melon plant is allowed in moderation.
- With gastritis with high acidity, pumpkin, on the contrary, becomes an indispensable element of dietary nutrition. It helps relieve heartburn and eliminate discomfort in the epigastric region.
Pumpkin dishes for gastritis: cooking technology
The main goal of dietary nutrition for gastritis is to reduce the load on the organs of the gastrointestinal tract during the digestion of food. Therefore, the general requirements for cooking technology should be observed.
In case of inflammation of the gastric mucosa, it is recommended to boil the pumpkin, steam it, stew or bake it in the oven. If we are talking about the use of raw fruits, first you need to grind the pulp on a grater or chop in any other way.
With gastritis, the pulp should not be pickled, fried, sprinkled with abundant spices or seasonings.
Pumpkin for gastritis: dishes to lower acidity
Pumpkin porridge is included in the list of dishes that it is advisable to use for gastritis with high acidity as often as possible. Porridge is prepared as follows.
- Cut 500 g of pumpkin into cubes, pour 200 ml of water. Simmer with the lid on until the pumpkin pieces are tender.
- Drain off the rest of the water, knead the pumpkin pulp with a spoon or a crush until puree.
- Pour in 300 ml of milk and bring the porridge to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat, season with salt, add sugar and a small piece of butter.
Pumpkin porridge lowers the acidity and eliminates the burning sensation in the esophagus. At the same time, the milk component envelops the walls of the stomach and relieves inflammation.
