Psychotherapy group

Psychotherapeutic group is a group of people who have come for psychotherapeutic help and working in a group format. We can say that these are forms of group work, where people undergo an adaptive change in their personal state.

The basis of the work of the psychotherapeutic group is conversations, the division of group members, games and discussions in their various forms and combinations. In a psychotherapeutic group, both individual psychotherapeutic work and group psychotherapy processes can be carried out.

Psychotherapy group size

The psychotherapeutic approach is always more individual than that of developmental psychology, and group therapy usually tends to work with small groups of up to 12 people. A psychotherapy group is like a small family where everyone knows about everyone.

However, not every group working with a psychologist is a psychotherapeutic group, and psychological training groups can be significantly larger, at least up to 60 people. Further, everything depends on the specific methodology of work and the skill of the coach.

Psychotherapeutic group and psychotherapeutic training

A psychotherapeutic group, compared to psychotherapeutic training, is a softer and less structured form of work, more focused not on the training program, but on the individual needs (problems) of the participants.

Psychotherapeutic group and psychological training
