Hat (diameter 3-7 cm): usually yellowish or light brown, with a slight tubercle and often cracked and jagged edges. It has the shape of a bell, which eventually changes to almost flat. Feels dry and smooth.

Leg (height 3-11 cm): slightly lighter than the cap, hollow, dense and curved, with powdery coating along the entire length. Slightly velvety to the touch.

Records: light beige, with time become rich brown. Attach firmly to the leg.

Pulp: brownish, soft, thin, watery. Odorless, very bitter taste.

Doubles: are absent.

The water-loving psatirella mushroom grows from late August to early November in Eurasia and North America.

Other names: hydrophilic psatirella, hydrophilic chrysanthemum, spherical psatirella, watery false frond.

Where can I find: on damp stumps and the dust of dead deciduous trees.

Eating: due to low taste properties, it is practically not used.

Hat (diameter 4-10 cm): cream or light brown, very fragile, changing over time from hemispherical or bell-shaped to almost prostrate. In young psatirella mushrooms, Candolla may have small brownish scales. The edges are wavy, covered with cracks, in the center there is usually a small tubercle.

Leg (height 4-11 cm): very smooth, usually white, occasionally brown. It has a slight thickening at the base and slight pubescence along the entire length. Like the hat, very brittle.

Records: frequent and narrow, tightly stick to the leg. Young mushrooms are light, old ones are dark brown.

Pulp: fragile, white. A barely perceptible aroma can be felt only at a very close distance.

Doubles: brown-gray psatyrella (Psathyrella spadiceogrisea), which has a darker hat and does not grow on or near trees, but exclusively in grass.

Application in traditional medicine: does not apply.

Other names: Kandoll’s false foam, Kandoll’s khruplyanka.

Where can I find: on stumps, next to or on trees. Almost always found only in deciduous forests.

Eating: practically not used, as it requires complex heat treatment.

Psatyrella conical (Psathyrella conopilus)

Category: inedible.

Leg (height 6-22 cm): hollow, very fragile, white.

Pulp: thin, light brown.

Records: in young mushrooms they are gray, in old ones they are almost black.

Hat (diameter 3-8 cm): yellow, brown or brown, cone-shaped. Smooth, with small grooves.
