Prunes are a tasty and healthy product, so it is not surprising that drinks from this sweet and sour dried fruit are very popular in various national cuisines. Plum broths and infusions contain a huge amount of vitamins and minerals, help to cope with digestive problems. Simple recipes help to diversify the diet and always have an effective traditional medicine on hand.
For a drink made from dried fruits to be truly healing, it is necessary to prepare high-quality raw materials. A good prune has an even black color, but not coffee or brown. Its surface should not leave dark marks on the fingers, and also be distinguished by a strong gloss (it often appears after plums are treated with glycerin). Quality dried fruits have a pleasant sour taste.
Prunes are even introduced into the menu of infants, first in the form of drinks, and later in the form of mashed potatoes. Pediatricians recommend using this product with caution, in small quantities, as it causes a strong contraction of the intestines
Thoroughly rinse selected dried fruits of large size in running water, then be sure to put them in a colander and pour over boiling water. Pour the prunes with hot water in an enamel or glass dish and leave in a cool place overnight, not in the refrigerator. For one serving of the drink you will need:
– water (1 glass); – prunes (6–7 pcs.).
This simple recipe for dried fruit infusion can be used in baby food, including as a laxative. Strain the contents of the dish through a fine sieve before use. It is not recommended for a child to sweeten the drink, while adults can add sugar to their liking. You can serve the infusion with homemade cakes.

The extraordinary taste of dried plums goes well with various spices and herbs, of which every culinary specialist can make his own signature bouquet. For example, it can be like this (per 100 g of dried fruit):
– carnation (2-3 flower buds); – granulated sugar (1,5-2 tablespoons); – vanillin (2,5 g); – allspice peas to taste.
Bring 500 ml of water to a boil in an enamel saucepan, then place the washed dried fruit in it. Stir the prunes in the liquid, boil and cook for 5-7 minutes. Put an assortment of spices in the resulting broth (without chopping them) and keep the drink on low heat for another 5 minutes. Then remove the dishes from the stove and cover tightly with a lid.
The decoction of prunes with spices should be properly infused, so wrap the pan well with a thick towel and keep it there for at least an hour. Serve the finished drink warm or chilled.
